She then double-faulted, and then played three lackluster points to give Venus the game. Venus deserved it, tough. She was as tough as nails, and played like a champion.

Federer's the better player. While Roddick's serve is no doubt excellent, his groundstrokes are nowhere as good as Roger and Federer is also a better serve and volley player. The irony is that Federer won this Wimbledon by sitting back and hitting which I think was because he wanted to prove that he could do it.CR7fan said:

Venus was very quiet during the final, and hardly grunted at all. You must have missed the final based on your statement.
Glad to see Venus winning majors again. She really did give it her all against Davenport, and thoroughly deserved the title. What a match that was... somewhat took me back to the Graf v Sanchez-Vicario match in 1995 (I think).
As for Federer... what a one-sided final. There was almost *no* doubt about the outcome. Still, at least it wasn't really boring - it was mind-boggling to watch Federer hit winner after winner, and pull off the most extraordinary shots at times. He does it with so much ease too. Was kinda going for Roddick (my hormones do tend to get the better of me ), but Federer's so damn good you have to admire him. At the rate he's going, I wouldn't be surprised if he does break Sampras's 14(?) grand slam record... certainly at the moment, there seems to be him at the top, and everyone else trying desperately to catch up.

His play is pheonominal and he has a bit of a hoodoo over Hewitt and Roddick who are probabaly his two main competitiors on the hard and grass courts.

but anyways briillaint performance by federer, really is in a different league.. hes established hes by far the best.. now he can go in to the next few grandslams with little pressure. Hed be a good bet for all of them. And i think hel prob win the french some time in his career.

i cant see federer losing again, but really think hewitt is due and will finally give him a game. i cant wait to go to the us open, ill be back in new york for the year right when it begins. i need cheap tickets though, so ill probably suffer through some shite first round match rather than see any classics.
