I was listening to a ETH press conference, where he said that Weghorst does so many of the fundamentals right in terms of pressing and positioning. That might be so, but he doesn't do much else correctly.

It's something I worry about with ETH. Strikers are treated differently by him than by other managers. There is no way for a striker/#9 to shine in his football/system unless he changes his style.

I think it's less about liking Weghorst specifically and more about liking certain profile of striker and the size, physicality, positioning and workrate they bring.
It could easily have been Arnautovic instead this season, just as it was any number of strikers he had at previous clubs.
