Brilliant moments, such as...? Come on man, he's a loveable guy but Crouch actually had great technique and could regularly hit the net, including actual worldies.

He's also shocking in the air, why cross to him when he gets beaten by Gavi in the air? I don't want to sound like I'm picking on him but when people keep saying we should cross more for him it makes me think they are not watching him but just look at his height and assume. He is very weak in physical confrontations and awful at boxing out players to win headers. He also doesn't seem to have the quickness of movement to shake a man and dart into a position to meet a cross.
 
Lets all hope he goes back to Burnley at the end of the season. I got a sneaky feeling we might end up signing him if he scores a couple more goals. Hes saying he loves it here and TH keep picking him. Hes simply not good enough for a team that wants to challenge for the title.
 
For all his shortcomings, he is a huge reason we are scoring more goals.
 
I like Weghorst. I think he works his socks off moreso than many with better talent who have donned the jersey have ever done so.

This title of this thread is ridiculous. So what if he doesn't score in the PL? If he has a hand in the deciding goal or unknowingly clears a goal bound shot with his arse to preserve a win then good on him.
 
He brings a lot of good things to the side, but the poor guy would probably have at least 10 goals already if he weren't one of the worst finishers we've ever seen out of a United striker. Dude makes Lukaku look like van Persie.

Come June we need to thank him kindly for his efforts and send him back to Burnley or Blackburn or whichever the hell club he came from. I'd rather have Martial as our backup next season, at least we know he can finish off chances and maybe when he only has to play on the days Osimhen or Kane are rested he'll be able to stay fit.

The way it’ll go is he won’t score much more but he’ll bag a hugely significantly goal of some form and enter cult hero status.

Something like a cup final winning goal in 90th minute or something.
 
Burnley will probably want about £30 million for him come the summer.

I’d be happy to sign him as a third choice striker for under £10 million, but he just isn’t good enough to be the backup to the main striker.
 
For me it is not enough that a player has a good work rate. To play for United you have to be one of the best in the league in your position. Weghorst is not even close to being a player for a top 10 team in the league. I would prefer that we gave Garnacho more playing time and used Rashford as the top striker instead. That would benefit the club in the length.
 
Striker is a confidence game so be interesting to see if he can have a run of goals. Think he’ll finish with 6-8 in all comps personally
 
If I was the betting sort (and had money to throw away), I'd have a punt on him scoring against Southampton

Exactly. Also he knows really well how to position himself. Just needs to be a little calmer in front of the goal. Wouldn’t be surprised if he scored today.

What stats have you got to back this up? The most recent stats I saw had us scoring a lot more goals without him compared to with him since he joined.

Rashford better off the lw

would make no sense, garnacho break through season currently, next year I expect to see him pushing for a starting place

Man has played liked 20 games in all comps over the past 2 seasons. Either we keep wout on a short deal or we get another backup striker who can be relied upon when needed. Relying solely on martial is scary.
 
Nice guy but we shouldnt sign players for their niceness and smiles. That’s very Ole-esque.

rather invest in a 80-110 million pounds elite striker. and promote one of our young forward from youth team to provide squad numbers.

Well that has to be complete bs. We are scoring 2+ goals on aberage now, we were not before.

Agreed, but I said that I'd prefer Martial over Weghorst as a backup, assuming we sign someone like Osimhen or Kane. I think it's pretty safe to say ETH is gonna prioritize signing an elite striker this summer.
 
He's wank no matter how much praise the football hipsters would like to give him. He'll cost us more chances than he'll create.
 
This shit experiment seriously needs to be stopped, he isn't a PL footballer never mind for a team with some aspiration to finish in the top 4.
 
Sick to death of him. All he's good at is pressing and he's not even that good at that.
