Will Ole get another PL job after this?

Will Ole get another PL managers job at some stage?

Would he even want one at this point?

I don’t think he has any ambition to be a high level football manager. He just wanted to be the main man at Man Utd and we allowed him to indulge in a Walter Mitty dream when we really shouldnt have.

Should just take up a DOF role somewhere and enjoy his millions. No stress or being found out for his tactical ineptitude.

It's hard to say. He might not want another PL job either.

If he's not getting any offers, then it's most likely because of his results for Cardiff.

Ole did okay with incredible attacking resources, but with a lesser team he was very poor in the EPL. He brought in 6 former United players at Cardiff City: Fabio, Rafael, Zaha, Mats Deahli, Magnus Eikrem, Macheda. Reaked of a lack of vision to rely of players you're more familiar with, who ended up not being up for the job (or hindered by their manager).

Can't see it in this league, it's a bit too close to home and perceptions around him are likely to stick. Could see it in another top league if he has the desire to.

Has a manager ever been allowed to show this much of his ineptitude? Usually the sacking is done a bit earlier, so it can look a bit harsh and the manager has some degree of "what if" sympathetics out there. But I don't think a top level manager has ever been allowed to fall to this level, where even neutral fans with no interest in the club or him believe him to be inept

Which fool will give him a job in PL again? Burnt through a fortune to leave in disgrace causing club damage on the way out.

He needs to go back to watching matches and learning the modern ways of football.

He's way too old school. Funnily enough, old-school managers are the best at coaching set pieces and yet Ole couldn't do that for toffee.

I'm amazed 146 people actually think he'll get a job in the league where he failed miserably at the bottom, and failed miserably at the top.
He got united into the top 4 two seasons in a row.
LVG couldnt do it. Jose couldn't do it. Moyes couldn't do it. Id bet good money that the next permanent manger wont do it.

Coaching is beneath Ole.

3rd and 2nd under Ole were wild flukes for the point hauls. Not to mention it cost United £150m a season in new signings for those top four "achievements".

LVG and Jose spent a lot on players as well. They wasted as much as Ole.

Lets see how the next guy does with our setup.

Apparently it was enough for 2nd and 3rd with or without luck. You can hate as much as you can but we came 2nd and 3rd in his seasons. If that is considered awful or bad in any way people need to come down to earth.

Solskjaer did well here until this season. Or atleast last month. Players didn't want to respond anymore to his methods and he needed to go. Simple. I put lot of blame on players for our lack of results.

This thread is a joke right. MLS is the only place he can probably get a job.

I think he will. Not necessarily because he should, or is good enough but because they'll be some owner out there who thinks its worth a punt at some point.

Though might be worth his time trying to rebuild himself in championship or similar

I don't think he will. The fact that he spent so much and have us play negative football during this 3 year say it all. He is not a manager that can punch above the weight. No other sane owner will give him the job.

what methods? he has no methods, no philosophy. players run like headless chickens because his method is telling them go out there and enjoy themselves. what kind of coaching is that. he was given every support to succeed at the club and yet he fails so bad to become a meme of ineptitude. is the cult of Ole this hilariously apathetic to reality?!

Apparently methods that gave us 3rd place, 2nd place, lot of semifinals and lost final. Failed? I don't think so. Ineptitude you are talking about comes only from those Football Managers gamers that can't seperate world of gaming with the real world.

But you seems to have all football answers, right?

Don't see Ole ever managing in the UK again. He wouldn't walk into a club with any authority now. Having proven he can't do it at either end of the table, being backed at both United and Cardiff.

I think international management for Norway could be good for him. A bigger focus on motivation than gameplan and a nation with humble expectations.

Maybe turn up at Inter Miami at somepoint.

Can’t see why not, would be an option for some of the lower teams provided they partner him with some experienced coaches. Some may take a punt hoping for a similar ‘new manager bounce’ that he had with us.

He is a good man manager, I stick with that, the players still like and respect him which at this stage is unheard of once things go wrong at clubs.

Id like to think he can come again with a new approach after learning his limitations tactically and what he needs in a coaching capacity alongside him. Average managers routinely get jobs, so whilst we know he’s limited technically I still think he will get opportunities, not a guarantee in the PL though.

It’s slightly irritating that people look at the money like that because at the end of the day he says which players he wants and the board go and try to buy. Secondly he wouldn’t have to spend if the previous manager left a better squad

I don't think he will want to. Manchester United is his club and he has held the ultimate job for him personally.

I really do believe he has done his best and always done the best for United. Why would he want to work for a 'rival' regardless of him being here or not?

I genuinely believe the team as a whole is better now than it has been for years, they just need shaping. Yesterdays display was shameful, you can't blame all that on Ole, pub teams play better. Yes you need management but they did nothing at all to help the situation.

I hope he has the best life gong forwards, he did far more good than harm in his time here.

I too doubt he'd want another PL job, reckon he'll have a long break then probably back to Norway and Molde or the National team job

Exactly. He outspent everyone in Norwegian League and even there he stagnated and stopped winning titles. The only situation where he did not have much more resources than most of his competition was Cardiff, and he resoundingly failed - after signing almost 20 players in a short period of time, almost all of whom were out of the club in a couple of years (and including 5 former United youth players - most of whom were also blatantly not good enough and let go soon after he left - another nepotism example).
Actually he was Cardiff’s highest spending manager at the time. This was before Neymar, so the £40m or so he spent was a lot for a team in Cardiff’s level.

Some stage could mean 20 years later also.

He's not getting it in the next 5 years atleast unless he reinvents and proves himself in another league.

He might go down as the worst manager to spend 500 million in the history of sports.

I'd say this season probably ruin whatever good reputation he has 'built' for the last few seasons. That thrashing against Liverpool, City and Watford are as bad as it gets and it'll take a long time for people to forget. Unless he rebuilds himself in another league I don't see any PL or Championship club will be brave or crazy enough to appoint him

I don't think so. Shown that he can't do it at Cardiff and then United where he had far more backing than most managers can afford.

Even Moyes took half a decade to start finding his feet again, and he has experience managing at this level for many more years than Ole did. And he also has a system that he employs to a great effect at West Ham level clubs.

Makes you wonder how Ole stayed with us for so long if he isn't going to easily get a job at any other PL club. Maybe he'll go back to Molde.

If Karius could get a gig after that CL final Ole can probably find something in one of the smaller leagues.

Yeah, he only needed City/Liverpool/Arsenal/Spurs/Chelsea to have some of their worst seasons in recent history to achieve top 4. What a man.

Maybe he would still get a job at Salford, let’s see if Neville would sack him or give him some time.

Pretty sure someone will take a punt, but really think he will go back to Norway again.

Indeed. The great Conte couldn't get Chelsea into the top 4 twice in a row.

How do you follow managing Man United - impossible! He should retire and enjoy his £7.5 million pay off.

He'll get another PL job eventually. He's not the joke/meme everyone said he would be and he genuinely did some good to great things here.

My guess is he goes to Germany, does well at a club like Wolfsburg, and then takes the next step from there which might eventually take him back to the PL.
