Excellent. A year behind his development is very disappointing - but hopefully his talent will help it being less of an impact. Great finisher.
I've heard that he is recovering well.
Says he's 6' 2" on the website is that true? Didn't realize he was that tall.
20, time to go out on loan next season if we aren't going to use him at United? He was such a talent before that injury. Really enjoyed his ability to hold the ball up and add a dash of poaching to his play. He looks a pretty assured finisher at reserve level.
He's not a goal poacher though. Why shouldn't he be able to resume the same level? A really torrid time....geez lol. He'll be fine. He's young and has recovered so will be back next season. Plenty of players have had the same type of injury and come back . The good thing with him in that he won't have put much weight on if any and he'll have been working out in the gym anyway
he does look comfortable and good enough banging in goals at youth level. the biggest challenge is to bring it up to the main level and even now it is tougher for him because of that injury.
his brother is developing nicely though. i reckon he should get another loan move and we'll see again in a year time how he is doing.
He is a goal poacher though, he is an out and out striker, unless you have seen something different? I don't see whats wrong with saying he has had a torrid time? I would say he has, very unlucky with injuries and the fact our strongest department is strikers..

He's hard to distinguish. He's not an out and out goal thief like Hernandez but I always noticed that he was very sound positionally. He'd often just 'be in the right area at the right time' and that extra finishing ability I think he has was what gave him the edge. He's definitely a smart all-round striker though.
Personally I disagree with you, perhaps you have seen more of him than me, I am not sure as I have only seen about 9-10 FULL matches, and even they were at reserve level, he may just have been doing the job asked. However, from what I saw, there is no way you could conclude that he wasn't a goal poacher, for me I know its tedious and used up but I would draw comparisons to Micky Owen personally, purely for the way he just, as you say 'is quite often in the right place at the right time'
Hes quite and odd mix really. Capable of both finishing and creating. I said it a few years ago he reminds me of Sheringham in that sense. Lets just hope he resumes his orignal levels of progress....
He was a changing player when he got his injury. He grew much stronger during the 11/12 season and as a result he'd stay up front rather than drop deep as often as he did when he was younger. In the Newcastle match where he got the hat-trick he was almost utilized as an old-school target-man. Incredibly well rounded player, can't wait to see him play.
Hopefully he can get a season on loan and get some games before coming back next season (like welbeck did)
Swansea look light up front - perhaps he could go there and add some strength in depth to assist them with a european campaign
I get the impression Laudrup is a fan of foreign imports and he's been making noise about the board needing to spend £200m.
I reckon he'll stay at the club until January so they can monitor his progress after the long injury lay-off, then consider a loan deal. Depending on how Hull are getting on they could be an option?

You clearly don't follow youth players if you believe that most come back from a lengthy injury and will be 'fine', most I would argue never look like getting back to the form they once showed through stopping and starting and missing that years/ whatever time out injured from playing.
nonsense......
Since when exactly? His movement and finishing prowess is a well known fact at the club.
People would classify Hernandez as more of a pocher. I think that term is actually demeaning to him. Someone mentioned Teddy and he is more like Teddy with a bit of Ole actually. I do follow youth players. Get your facts right.
Did it effect fletcher? The reality is what percentage of kids CAN be brought through to the first team anyway? You're lucky if you bring through a 5-6 in the space of 6-8 years. The injury has been treated. He'll have had the support of the club. We've sold King and Cofie so he knows he'll walk back in the reserve side. It may take him time to get up to speed - it might not - but he will.

Fletch never did his ACL, did he?

Very early in his career I think. Before he hit the first team.

I've said this many times, Will Keane reminds me of Berbatov only with: pace, a wicked workrate, non-moody & both-footed...
This kid is gonna be awesome for us in good time. He's a great humble lad & he's United thru & thru like Welbeck - u cant buy that sort of committment & thats what we all cry out for at United from our young players!
