I'll assume he was trying to bounce it off the crossbar. A la Ronaldinho. Clearly he's no Stewart Downing though.

Ha I know was just joking.

I'm very excited about him, we have to keep out expectations in check but he could be a breathe of fresh air. Love watching flairy players like him.

haha, I can just imagine the negotiations going slowly, until.....

"Hey Kenny, check out this video I found on YouTube after watching downing "best of villa", you should see what he can do from a freekick!"

Pay the money just pay what they ask!!

Jesus you would think people in their position would realise that's a doctored video?!. Fools and their money hey

I find Zaha weird, he's ridiculously skillful, but he always looks like he's about to fall over whilst doing his tricks and runs, really clumsily, yet he generally succeeds at them. It's exiting, kinda.

It's the same thing that people say about Welbeck. It's simply because they have long legs. Watch the ball, and you'll see it moves about the same way it would if a shorter player were dribbling with it. The 'clumsiness' is illusory, the effect of seeing those long legs swinging around at speed.

Agreed. but his stepovers in the above youtube video were ridiculous.

There's growing evidence of a direct correlation between the level of his performance and the number of Manchester United fans watching that performance. Which bodes well.

Yeah, it looked totally bizarre, unnatural and unnecessary. But the best thing about that video was him beating his man and delivering decent end product. Seems like he'll be a frustrating player to watch in the first few years of his development (like most young players) because quite a few times it seems he just puts his head down and runs into blind alleys. To be fair that's more entertaining then watching Valencia turn 180 degrees and passing it back to Rafael.

I watched the Play off game where he scored twice. Also, some of the youtube clips show me we've a prospect at hand. Forgive me, I didn't pay attention when we signed him. Looking forward to seeing him play for us now.

It's the fact that his passing's so good as well that gets me excited. Plus he seems an ambitious, focused lad.

That pass to Kevin Philips against Boro was quite a mature thing to do for a 20 year old.

Not that selfish as people would think.

Yeah me too. Why did we all watch Palace-Boro?

I think as Pocco said it was the first game after signing so we all wanted to see what we were dealing with.

First televised game when we were linked/signed him?

Yep.

 Amazing at home - Shit away?

I agree. Even when he was doing all those silly stepovers he still ends up either beating his man or playing the ball back to the fullback/CM supporting him.

What impressed me was the assist for the first goal against Boro. I know the little cross was deflected, but it was the speed and simplicity with which he was able to push the ball a yard to his right to get space at the byline to play the ball in. Nothing fancy just genuine fleet of foot and a dangerous pass.

I'd say Parnaby is still having nightmares about that game!

I'm really excited about Wilfried; let's hope he has a great game today and can say goodbye to Palace knowing he's played his part getting then back in the Premier League.

Unlucky there, took the piss out of the 2 defenders. I don't know how good he can get but it's going to be nice having a winger with a few tricks up his sleeve (other than Nani who could be off)

Some say Yannick Bolasie is better can regular Championship watchers shed some light?

He never seems to have full control of the ball or what he's doing yet gets a shot/pass/cross off.

He is very hot and cold and I don't think he is Premiership quality, let alone United quality. To be fair to the lad, he has made massive strides this season but Zaha is by far the better player.
