Some overreactions here, scores as good as a tap in and has been ordinary all night.
Could have had an assist to Johnny Williams, played a few good crosses in, one of which was cleared no more than two yards out, beat players with ease. Not what I'd call ordinary personally.

Unquestionably massive goals for Palace. I am always impressed when players produce on the biggest stages. Remember that C Ronaldo will sometimes do nothing all game before bagging a couple.

Same way as posting images.

 Wooosh.

edit: Double woosh.

Wilf Zaha Zaha
His name rhymes with Saha
When he scores we go Gaga
Wilf Zaha Zaha

To the tune of Que sera sera.

Second goal was a stunner. But face facts, against a Championship defence. Wait and see if he can do it at the top level, but he looks a real prospect

Tis a championship defence, but its the tightest one in the league and arguably better than those in the relegation battle at the bottom of the premier league

two nice goals.

first one is a header, not many young wingers scores with their head for a start. that's a good sign.

second one, he out muscle or literally pushed the centre back, and then executes with a lovely left foot finish. combination of good strength and a finish with his weaker side.

surely can do a better job than valencia now. ;)

He has real potential. From watching him, he goes from one extreme to another where he tries to take several defenders on when the odds are stacked against him and then other times he's very unselfish and gets rid of the ball very quickly.

His pace will definitely cause a problem at OT regardless, there was numerous times where he was clean through on the left but his teammates just weren't aware of the pass. He was very hardworking also last night and helped out their left-back a lot.

Again, championship defense, but what I really enjoyed is how easy he got past them through his pace and skill. At the age of 20 too, he has many a year to practice that against PL defenders, and in a couple of years he'll regularly be doing that against the likes of top full backs. I for one am excited about this prospect, really does look like a good English talent.

I don't think there is a big difference when it comes to getting past players. If you can do it against a championship side this regularly you can most definitely do it against better opponents as well.

There are a few rare wing-backs with ridiculous pace like Cashley for a while, but even then the winger has a huge advantage.

I hope Zaha gets to play right away with Nani, you can't keep both of them quiet all games long and they will take those runs behind the defense which none of our players do.

There aren't you're right, I mean Bridge was playing Premier league football just last year, and Zaha got out of his pocket easily enough that game. He seemed to be able to get past the FBs every time though and make a comfortable delivery to the people in the box. He will definitely not have as high a completion rate in the PL, but that's for him to learn about. It's not the pace of beating the FB that he will find challenging, it's the awareness and timing of the tackle that makes the difference; a lot of the time Calderon for example would lunge for the ball and gave Zaha the opportunity to skip past and beat him with ease. In the PL players will hold back and wait more patiently, giving him less options than the Championship. Nonetheless I can see him doing well on the wing at United, I imagined him to be a selfish player but in fact he's none of the sort after seeing those two games.

Of course there is a difference in level and the success rate will be affected but a successful dribbler in the championship is not going to arrive at United and be an incompetent dribbler.

People are completely disregarding the fact that playing for one of the best teams in the world means you will get better passes, more space, more back-up etc.

United are also a lot better than the sides we play against the majority of the times. So even if the opponents wing-back, CB and winger whom he is up against is one step better - he will be teaming up with RVP and Kagawa who is 3 steps better than the opponents.

People never add that to the equation which of course makes it look a lot harder to "get past PL defenders" than it in reality will be. It is still a step up though definitely.

"People had said that I'd lost the dressing room but I know where it is, down the corridor on the left,"

. I would love him back in the PL ,but i have no time for Crystal Palace and it's fans.

His movement for the second goal reminded me of Saha in the way he held off the defender before rolling him and smashing it with his weaker foot

The best thing about him for me is the consistency of final product. Usually young flair wingers do a lot of 'beating their man' and not a lot of good crossing/shooting/passing. But if anything, Zaha is more consistent in the latter. He always seems to find a way to get the ball into a dangerous area.

Across both ties, Brighton were always either double or triple marking him, and yet he rarely failed to create at least a half chance once he'd got the ball. Sometimes, yes, that meant escaping his markers, which was very impressive. But sometimes he recognised that he wasn't going to dribble three defenders at once, so he 'did a Valencia' - took a step to line up a gap, and smashed a low cross through it.

That 2nd goal is great. Reminded me of Hernandez vs Argentina in 2010. Rolls the defender, smashes it with his left. I love a good rolling of a defender. I like how he looks to be comfortably 2 footed. There's just no excuse for being 1 footed as a professional, yet so many are.

Don't think he was that great in the game overall, or rather - he showed the good and bad of Wilfried Zaha. The fact is, the potential is there to work with, which is what matters at this stage.

Agreed, i hope nobody expects this lad to rock up and be the perfect article already.

No doubts some at O.T will be moaning and groaning as soon he loses the ball.

I have a feeling he will be a bit fustrating like Nani was, but also capable of moments of magic. Just hope he starts well, the confidence of having a good debut will help massively.

Seems to be equally comfortable on either wing, and with either foot. Has all the tools.

In Palace games, he's always heavily covered and pressured by two, sometimes even three opponents.

In United he'll have much more space and time to do his magic as our opponents are usually focused on Persie, Rooney, Welbeck and Chicharito and that's coming form a Palace supporter, not me.

I agree with him, absolutely. As soon as Wilf adjust his game to Premiership tempo it's game over for his opponents. It's gonna be like this - let him through or foul him and get a card. During the 2nd goal against Brighton, the moment the defender gave him bit time and space, he scored with his left foot which is his weaker one.

He also gonna be perfect to create more space for our attackers, including Kagawa, storming from the deeper field.

The guy's extremely agile and has no fear in what he's doing on the pitch. In some years may become a key player for United and England.

Whatever happens we cannot let him take penalties!
