Zaha is looking like a fool, trying to pull tricks and losing the ball. :)

He's done well after the initial 20 minutes, tbf and is playing out of position.

This is the best i've seen Ince play anyway.

Hendo has been good. Jonjo is looking mediocre even this game.

Would have liked to have seen Powell involved. Hopefully Will Hughes comes on 2nd half.

Zaha has been quiet for a few games now; you would have to imagine that the transfer is playing on his mind; which to be fair, is expected.

I said it with a light heart, bro. Won't create any sell Zaha threads. :)

He has settled in after the initial period. The last few tricks were pretty funny though.

Ince has certainly looked like the better player tonight. He's far more comfortable on the ball than Zaha and has more technique where as Zaha is superior physically. Then again, it's a poor pitch and Zaha is playing out of position.

I'm pretty sure Ince wouldn't have been able to pull off that turn Zaha pulled off before his shot.

I quite like what I'm seeing so far. Very quick, two-footed, skillful.

I heard the commentator say that Will pulled out due to an injury. Or was it Shaw?

Agreed. Look the most skillful in U21. And he's a huge fella.

One thing for sure Hendo still looks shit even at this level..

Tbf, Ince and Hendo were England's best players in the first half.

Let's not go OTT with the Liverpool hate.

It's one game! How can someone be "way way way" to good for the 6th/7th best team in England, when he's only played about 50 first team games in the Championship!

Let him develop.

Tongue in cheek.

(There's not a smiley for it.)

Has hardly been tested defensively today, tbf.

Still, Walker's a bit rubbish I reckon. He's basically just a really fast, really strong man. Terrible defender and while his 'overlapping runs' may excite some, he's not that good a footballer (apart from a powerful shot admittedly) when going forward.

In his defence, he should improve defensively with age. But he's overrated for now I'd say.

people love to bash Henderson...he won the U21 award because he put in consistent performances throughout the entire qualifying campaign, and as captain. the frustration should come from Martin Kelly being nominated (and coming 2nd!) after playing just 2 matches. Henderson deserving over anyone else who was a regular in that U21 team and he's starting to find some of that form that makes him the player he should be. not his fault he was pegged with such an inflated price tag.

Ince and Smith looked good...Hughes classy as well :)

thing is, that was a young Swedish side with an England team that was essentially a Championship side stuck together.

Oxlaide chamberland should have won it imo.

Highlights the problem with the talent and youth system when players like Henderson are being rushed into senior caps before they've outgrown the U19/U20 stage. These aged people should be scrapping for an appearance at u21 level knowing that will be the only way they get into the senior team.

Why on earth did Liverpool get rid of Tom Ince anyway? Don't know what he's like week in week out but he looked the real deal at times last night. Looked more like a Spaniard with his touch and running style. Zaha in last nights game looked a bit more in the bracket of Ashley Young/Valencia technique-wise in my opinion (and that's the impression I've had previously) although he did pull off one crazily good turn on the edge of the area in all fairness.

Yes, Ince prefers closer control/stepovers/drop of the shoulder to gain an advantage, where as Zaha appears to be a bit more of a tricks and kick into space type winger.

I'd say the comparisons technique wise could be compared to Nani/Bale. This comparison stops there though. Ince does look to be streets ahead on the decision making, but that comes with experience. People forget how young Zaha is.

I'd like to think Zaha has a more ferocious shot on him, also.

Looks like a two-footed Valencia, but he seems to have room to mould more into his game.

I like him.

Ince left them for regular football. They didn't exactly get rid.

He was obviously talented - not the kind of player Hodgson wanted

The didnt, it was just a false transfer...

I didn't really pay much attention to Ince yesterday as I was focused on Zaha's movement whenever Ince or anyone else were in possession inside Sweden's half. From what I did notice, though, it seemed like Ince's movement was mainly what caused the Swedes problems, rather than his ability. That was certainly the case when he opened the scoring and then again when he won the penalty.

Zaha's movement, by contrast, wasn't all that, but then I guess he's more comfortable out wide. On the ball he showed a few glimpses of something special even if it didn't all come off.

There was one run down the ldft by Zaha that was the highlight of his night for me, where he took it past a couple of players.

Think he just looked completely lost up front and he kept recieving the ball with the defender right up against him, whereas he'd normally have a bit more space to run into when picking it up out wide.

Just seen the highlights... what a game by England! Really the complete performance by all involved.

Henderson was excellent, there's no two ways about that. The ridicule of him has come from the way Liverpool have treated him as more than he is, paying that silly fee and then talking about him like he's one of the better senior midfielders in the PL. International U21 level is nothing to scoff about, and seems to be more where he is right now. He's certainly excelling at it.

Ince was good, but I agree that his movement and anticipation were what really made the game for him. Only highlight of Zaha was that turn, but that was enough for me. Possibly comparison with Ince has overinflated criticism of his technical ability, because you can't turn like that without top class technique and touch.

Shelvey's finishing... First that unchallenged point-blank header from Henderson's pin-point cross, and then he almost managed to shoot over for his goal despite being about a yard from the line!

Smith looks excellent too. Good crop of youngsters all round for England at the moment.
