Why don't we win at Anfield anymore?

I think we’re due for a reality check here but I really hope I’m wrong. This winning sequence has been good thus far but we’re far from the finished article.

Reality will hit us tomorrow that we are, in fact, the finished article.

Worried about todays game.
I think we’ll see a resurgent Salah, Nunez will silence all the doubters and show why they beat us to him, and Milner/Hendo will roll back the years. Could be an uncomfortable afternoon indeed. :wenger:

If we keep our calm in the first 20 minutes we will be alright I think. They will come out with all guns blazing like they did against Real Madrid. But they are not good enough anymore to maintain this the whole game, like the Real Madrid game showed as well. Keep our nerve, stay relaxed and don’t concede in the first 20 minutes and we will win this.

I agree. Think the first 20 could be crucial as they’ll come out trying to throw a haymaker so could see Rashford getting a chance that could really kill their false momentum.

In EtH I trust though so I don’t think we’ll lose today.

Problem was we haymakered Arsenal in last big away game and lead only lasted few mins

What I don't understand is this: no matter how shit they are, they are always up for this match. Can't say the same about ourselves. When we're good, it's 50/50. When we're shit, we get throttled.

Yeah it’s weird. Maybe it’s something to do with the fact we’ve got City to contend with whereas they could play there U9’s and beat Everton.

They have long serving players like Henderson and Milner to provide leadership. One of our longest serving players (Phil Jones) is a cripple who has no right whatsoever to be at the club.

They own us big time last few years and this result isnt something we can revenge ever. Even if we beat them 4-0 which I dont see us doing soon. Maybe its ingrained in some players, hammerings, Anfield, I dont know, maybe we need to ship some more players. Worst part is even proven winners like Casemiro and Varane were disastrous. Not to mention our captain..

I saw a stat online that says in our last (10 I think) matches there, Liverpool have scored 36 goals to our 2. That's absolutely pathetic.

We’re intimidated whenever we go there, have been for years and years. Even now when they aren’t very good we still can’t handle it.

We’ve only scored one goal in something like our last 8 games there, it’s an appalling record and much like Everton are games at Anfield aren’t really a rivalry because it’s not even a contest.

You're trying to take a game in which we totally collapsed as your point.
Ok.

Which is what I have been saying, we concede too many clear cut chances in games and when a better team plays us, they will batter us. That was my point wasn't it?

That was your point with which I didnt agree with and dont agree still.

Their players care more about this game than our players do.

You can even argue the same was true during the later SAF years too.

As a lot of people on here had predicted (and well done, good shout!) We were due a reality check and got it. We don't win at Anfield anymore because Liverpool have a team full of leaders who will obviously be up for a game against United. We, on the other hand have Bruno, who was like the boy in the park who's team is losing so He picks up the ball and wants to go home with it.

The majority of the time in the modern era has been endured under Ferguson, who in my opinion was always cautious at Anfield. He pretty much played for the draw a lot of the time because the norm in his head was United would win every other match anyway (wasn’t really phased by Highbury when playing Arsenal) and Liverpool had a point to prove in some form, whether it be mediocre form at the time or general rumbling from media and fans about when Liverpool were going to win their next league title as the years ticked by, coincided by United winning the league most years.
