Why aren't the other teams in the Premier League rallying to have City ousted?

This argument about the smaller clubs being able to consistently compete without a sugar daddy is odd. What about the smaller clubs beneath them? And the ones beneath those?

Will everyone take a wage cap so that Dorchester Town can compete with them?

At the end of the day, the big clubs built that dynasty for themselves. Of course it's not easy to just catch-up, but that's part of the challenge. It doesn't mean that those clubs who are funded by nation states, fake sponsors and cheating should be lauded as underdog heroes.

Everton and Burnley would never be able to get anywhere near Newcastle and City's level a spending and would end up going bankrupt if they even tried
Wait until Bahrain, Oman sovereign funds get interested

How am I doing that?

The subtext of what I am saying is that City's alleged crimes and actions are worse and not the same level; otherwise they're not of as much use for "deflection" purposes. Anyway, the real answer is probably something boring like in house legal restricting the club anyway.

Should everyone just repeat the same answer and agree with the same hypothesis over and over?

Like I said. Adex reborn!

It just gets worse at every turn. They need to be expelled.
The shared damages element you quoted makes the ‘taking sides’ speculation more interesting.

According to reports, * are not only challenging the APT rules but seeking damages for deals that were affected or lost as a consequence. Those damages would have to be paid by the league, whose shareholders are its 20 member clubs.

It’s what you’d expect from an army of lawyers searching for every exploit in legislation that never ever expected to be challenged like this; the divide and conquer element is not to be underestimated.

This has gotten so shady, you can’t help but wonder who might be swayed by under the table wrangling. It’s not a cut and shut case, for sure.

Why should City or Newcastle be able to compete for the league instead of say Palace or Fulham because they won the lottery and a nation state decided to buy them? That hardly seems fairer to me.
I never said "compete". Clubs with new owners won't be able to win the trophy in another 100 years if the current FFP system in in place.
All I asked for was just an "outside" chance of winning the PL for teams like Newcastle and Palace and Villa.

Unless that happens, there will always be discontent, and rightly so.

Leicester won the league, never made top 4 again and relegated 6 seasons later, they had that investor that died in a chopper crash

Aston Villa just made top 4 for the first time in like 30yrs and will you place a bet on them making top 4 this year again?

Spurs have never won the league in 50yrs

So again which club in the entire top 5 leagues has been able to challenge CONSISTENTLY without outside money
You've been given examples already.

What you fail to understand is that City's massively inflated spending, and alleged off the books spending has made it even less likely for other clubs to compete.

If you think it's bad now, wait and see what the league will look like in another 20 years with only state backed clubs having any chance to compete and City winning their unprecedented 10th league title in a row.

If clubs are going to sign up to rules but then cheat anyway, what is the point of the league or sport in the future?

Because most wouldnt get anything out of it and instead risking to be involved in a lawsuit that will cost money. Moral victory means nothing to them.

Yes agreed. It seems unlikely that they can have any real sway over the outcome. City are smart to take this as entirely into the legal sphere and out of the hands of footballing institutions as possible precisely because when push comes to shove, most footballing institutions dance to the tune of the powerful clubs. And every other club would benefit if City were severely punished.

Since it is a basically solely legal matter now, clubs can't do anything about it. No benefit in speaking out. They will just wait and see what happens.

On reflection you've got to hammer home the cheating rather than the spending.
