A brazilian magazine said Neymar was the best brazilian player after Pelé and Mourinho said: "That Neymar is a fantastic talent no one can doubt, nor dispute that he arrived in Europe and won. But they forgot world champions, Ronaldo Nazario, Rivaldo, I remembered two, but could have more."

According to ESPN Brazil Fans

R9 for sure. In fact I would take an R9 in my team(prime) over Pele any day.

T1 Ronaldo, Zico
T2 Rivaldo, Romario, Ronaldinho
T3 Falcao, Kaka
T4 Cafu, R. Carlos, Neymar, Socrates

Neymar is close to the third tier already and has potential to reach 2nd.

Id even say Marcelo has accomplished more than Neymar currently.

Neymar shouldn't have gone to a lesser league if he wanted a good reputation.

R.Carlos has got to be on par with Kaka. He was immense and scored so many goals for a full back.

Does Lucio even come into this debate?

So why not list them? I don't get it. And how can you list 'others' then continue to list other players underneath 'others'. Who fecking made this list!?!
Because individually they would have got like 0.5% of votes each

Neymar has done nothing in the game yet apart from a few worldies here and there. But he simply doesn't have the talent around him to properly shine in the current Brazil team but that could all change with the emergence of Arthur Melo, Vinicius Jr, Eder Militao etc

Ronaldo is Brazils best ever but with his career being wrecked by injuries then Ronaldinho has been best after him since Pele. Rivaldo was frightening for a few years. Kaka also but only for a few seasons.

Then why not just fecking list the 2 or 3 players that got an equal amount of the vote instead of leaving us all here guessing as to who 'others' is actually referring to? fecking shit show of a list.

Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Zico, Kaka, Rivaldo and Romario are definitely ahead of him.

Brazil had so many superstars, it is unreal.

Ronaldo then Zico then Romario. Those three in their own category then comes the likes of Ronaldinho and Rivaldo

Leo Junior better than Cafù and Socrates, maybe even of Falcao

Kaka and Ronaldinho both did more at their peaks than Luiz Ronaldo did.

Because they don't want to end up with a much bigger list.
That and they likely think that most people will fall within the options given.

Neymar's just the current generation, people always think what they're watching right now is the best thing ever.

R9, Rivaldo, Romario, Ronaldinho have all been better in recent-ish history.

Romario, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho in that order...haven't seen Zico play that much so can't comment.

So long story short is we don't care about who the others are because all we're interested in is how far down Neymar is. Got it...

Others literally refers to all others. There might be some huge Lucío fans somewhere...

I agree with Brazilian espn voters

Yes

Quite a few ahead of him to be honest, but some of them are probably romanticised.

That 98/02 crop really captured the imagination of a generation. Ronaldinho, Rivaldo, Cafu, Carlos, Ronaldo are all streets ahead of him for me

I feel like Kaká is overrated on here because of the way he destroyed United in 2007.

He was an excellent player but Neymar is comfortably a tier above him at the very least.

I'd have Zico, Ronaldinho and R9 Ronaldo ahead of him for now at least.

What? He’s won a Champions League, numerous league titles and has carried the Brazilian national team since he was barely out of his teens. Unless “shining at international level” means winning a World Cup, I’m not sure what more he could have done. MVP at the Confederations Cup and was very good in the 2014 World Cup until his injury mentally destroyed the whole of Brazil.

I only ever remember Rivaldo for his difficult personality somehow.
You mean you don't remember when the ball hit him on the shin and he fell over and rolled around on the floor clutching his face?

He taught Neymar everything he knows!

Right, that's him too, laughable fecking cnut. The difficult personality was a reference though :)

Neymar has done a pretty great job at the international level and has given his best for Brazil to his abilities. Neymar is a bit unlucky to have just about ok-good players in other attacking positions. Neymar has something close to 100 caps. Active players who are close to that number maybe only Alves and Silva. Even Marcelo has maybe around 50-55 caps.
So most of the big names he played with were defenders.

Also it doesn't really help that Brazil has moved on to different styles of play, unsuccessfully, over the past many years. There is no flair or beauty now and it resembles a European style of play. Also the team doesn't gel much to be honest.

And also there is a degree of romanticism or nostalgia involved when we think of Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho and Roberto Carlos. The same is not true when we think of Neymar Coutinho

Kaká was great up to a point but he practically fell off a cliff.

I agree with the list. Was a bit surprised for Cafu to not be in it but that just shows the wealth of talent they had over the years.

8. Others

Some one care to explain what this nonsense means?

If I’m not mistaken, Brazilian ESPN arranges a vote on their web page with ten nominees, and also the possibility of voting for the bracket ‘others’, if some people has a favorite outside of the ten nominees. The alternative would be to provide an endless list of nominees.

Zico or Romario imo. I'd put Ronaldinho up there aswell but that might be due to sentimentality.
