Who's better, Zinedine Zidane or Titus Bramble?

I was meant to return my coaches assesment sheets so that next year's U9s can be graded. I have since torn them up and simply emailed them to tell them that I can't possibly tell since many of them play in different positions.

I'm Titus Bramble, and I am very hurt by some of the hurtful things that have been said here.

Merry Christmas, except to Plech.

It must be true.

That cat photo had a zimmer frame in it. The same model that all Newcastle defenders have to use to keep their sponsors happy (and their defenders upright).

Exactly.

Mine actually is inherited from Alan Shearer.

Sorry lads I can't resist:

I do think he'll mature into a great player. But by that time he'll be
playing for Madrid or Milan. I suspect if we'd bought someone like Duff
instead, we'd've missed out on some wonderful moments, but done better
as a team.
WE delve further into the comments:

Spot on...it not only slows the play down, it frustrates his teammates.
People say, "he had no choice but to dribble, no-one made any runs into
space." Well that works both ways...if I was Scholesy, I wouldn't bust
my asthmatic lungs to make forty-yard runs when 8 times out of 10, it's
going to end up with Ronaldo being tackled, falling over, shooting from
some stupid position, or choosing the wrong pass.
Folks it doesn't end there

The reason Rooney gets less criticism than Ronaldo is because his
football brain is far better, resulting in less frustration even when
he's not playing well, and also because of his attitude to the team.

Rooney's priorities:

1. United winning
2. Scoring
3. Screaming at/clapping the ref
4. Pies

Ronaldo's priorities:

1. Ronaldo beating loads of men and then scoring
2. Ronaldo beating lots of men
3. Ronaldo looking good
4. United winning
Then lastly the one greatest quote of them all:

The above comes from those who love to compare Zidane to Bramble. the stupidiest form of trying to come across as clever and knowledgable. always accompanying intelligent posts with their version of the swastika

You should sell it to Newcastle for £8m.

And before you say 'That's ridiculous'...

There it is again. What the feck is it?

I know I missed the boat in posting this as a topical comment but last weekend I was amused to note Bramble had a great game against Chelsea.

Made me think of this thread.

Just thought I would put that out there.

I'm begining to think this Simon Adebesi and the rubberman are one and the same, like the giant and the dwarf in twin peaks

I give this thread - and The Chief - a lot of credit for imagining 'bellend utopia', which, incidentally, is also the chosen theme for noodlehair's re-decoration of his bedroom.

'Intercourse Accident' has been at it again I see.

He's being far too simplistic in suggesting that, just because 2 things function under different criteria, they are necessarily completely incommensurable. (He's obviously never seen a Lakatos reply to a Feyerabend argument.)

One way to usefully compare scientific structures of thought (or players) is to evaluate how effective they are at the positive elements of their roles - how well they fit their criteria.

Now if we assume that Titus is not meant to be the physical equivalent to the Chief's thought processes on the pitch, but is rather expected to be a competent defender, capable of going tens of minutes at a time without fecking up then the poor lad is going to score rather low. Zidane did rather well at his job for the team - and won things. This suggests that Zidane is a better footballer than Titus (something we all know) and we have successfully compared how good they are.

He's actually a brilliant player. Very underrated.

Not really. I'm just waiting for a reaction off a gullible poster.

You haven't compared anything successfully. You have assumed all the way through your post. and as they say about assuming: It's makes an ass of u and me. The question of the thread is not who is the better footballer overall. The question is:who is better: Zidane or Bramble? All you have done is make an ass of yourself by missing the whole point. After all this time .... Once again.
