Who replaces Ten Hag?

Weve had good managers over the years who have all failed as players were allowed to down tools. We need a real leader as manager and change at the top. DOF etc.

It’s not the worst idea in the world to the end of the season then go from there ?
He failed terribly at Real.. and thats his only big job so far..some managers just cant make it in a big club..

I would take Lopetegui short term. We’re overdue a Spanish manager, they probably produce the best coaches in the world followed by Germany

Not relevant for now but Tuchel was so nice about us before and after the game you can tell he would want the job in the future. Don’t always agree with him tactically but he has the personality and big club experience.

I will throw in Gallardo again. Rather him than failures like Potter or Lopetegui. We need a winner and someone not broken, Gallardo has done exceptional at River Plate. We need to have a look at him.

Surely the question at some point must become, who could be doing any worse?

12 defeats in 24 games is pathetic.

Honestly I think the best manager we could get would be the super nanny because half these players need someone to put them over their knee and take away their xboxes. They won't listen to Potter or De Zerbi and Zidane probably isn't stupid enough to take over a shit show like United. We also need a coach as well as a motivator.

Honestly I reckon that there are very very very few managers who could turn us around. Probably Klopp and maybe Pep if he was given loads of money and a few seasons.

Zidane - simply not happening.
Potter - absolutely not.
De Zerbi - maybe, but why would he leave Brighton to join this circus?
Lopetegui - if Ancelotti really isn't available, then I guess I'd be fine with it. Not exactly jumping with excitement, but can hardly be any worse than the current one. How the frauds in the squad will take to it is another matter.

Not exactly a dream list, but it's better than doing nothing, I suppose.

Of course, the source is toilet paper, but hardly groundbreaking names anyway.

No body because the clubs a mess... you could have a clone of SAF or St Pep .. the issues remain.. imo will get worse with 25% sold .. this guys not put money in to lose it..

Gallardo
Currently loving mediocrity in Saudi isn't he?

Ronaldo was the first. He is the smart one. What is better? Stay at United for peanuts (relatively speaking) and have a nobody like Ten Hag disrespect you? Or go to SA, make a lot of money, score 50 goals per year, and be adored by everyone? Hard choice!...
I’m sure our lad Ronnie is much happier in South Africa…..

what an underwhelming list of replacements

Zidane obviously not touching us, Potter to follow a lazy SJR brexit idea, De Zerbi.. can imagine in 18 months players questioning his authority and people saying he's out of his depth, Lopetegui - just not a top manager nor a charismatic leader..

Some of the names bandied about are terrible. Potter? Really?

I don't understand the narrative 'We can't appoint anyone worse than ETH?' . Whatever you think of Ten Hag, you'll just be repeating the same thing with the next manager which just means another 18 months or whatever of non-progress.

It was the same when we were linked with Rodgers when Ole was struggling. A lot of people were saying they would take him as he couldn't be worse than Ole. Do people really think that would have been a good idea? It's a matter of wasting money/time on someone who will ultimately fail. I think some people's opinions blind them to what is rational.

I can understand if Ten Hag gets sacked and at the moment, I'm not completely against it but seeing the names we are linked with, I think it's better to stick with him and hope he can turn the ship around.

How does this make sense in your head? And how does he make a return on an overpriced investment by making it run worse?

Erm, United obviously. This place never fails to amaze me.

Make a package deal with Stuttgart in the winter, get Hoeneß and Guirassy

Aside from McKenna and Alonso, nobody else interests me.

I think our next manager will be McKenna, assuming Ipswich get promoted. There isn’t an outstanding candidate, club needs big rebuild on and off the pitch and for that reason I think INEOS will go for someone younger and on the way up.

Just hope there is a proper structure with qualified people in place for the summer as next manager will desperately need one.

I'm not suggesting we go for Potter but I do think he's judged too harshly on what happened at Chelsea. He actually started pretty well there with 7 wins and 2 draws from his first 9 games, then the defeats started with Brighton (a), Arsenal (h), City (a) and Newcastle (a) which led into the World Cup break. Then when they returned he faced City again twice in the first 4 games taking them into mid-January by which point Boehly had started to sign another new squad.

A lot of 0-0, 0-1 games there as well which is unsurprising when he was relying on a past-it Aubameyang, out of form Sterling and Havertz for goals. Without Rashford's form last season we'd probably have had a similar set of results, Pochettino hasn't done any better either.

Nobody will replace him. At least not this season anyway for the simple fact there’s no one good enough to replace him. All the top managers are in a job.

One of the issues with Ten Hag, in my opinion, is that he seems to lack charisma. We need someone that the players like, respect and want to work hard for.

Everything I have read about Ruben Amorim makes me think he has what it takes to united the group....

Seems to know how to setup his team...

Speaks great English. Won a title with Sporting a couple of years back and has them sitting first this year.

This place is full of bots.

Agreed. It won't work without a new structure. I'd give ten Hag the first crack under the new regime as long as he is accepts his role being heavily limited to that of a coach. If it continues not to work, then I'd move for McKenna or Alonso.

Potter would be disaster imo
Zidane is an impossible dream
De Zerbi would be realistic and interesting
Lopetegui would be meh
Don't think Zidane wants to return to football, other than Real Madrid but he would be a good fit.

Dezerbi is not realistic as he is very analytical and a very smart guy, he won't walk into this shit.

I am sorry, but some posters here are deluded and very disrespectful toward SAF; when they think literally SAF (who covered many important responsibility aspect of DoF brilliantly) would fail to solve this mess.

Some of them could be a surprise package for us, similar to Ange at Spurs or Emery at Villa. One day a manager will come in and click with the players and fans and we won't look back. I wouldn't write any of them off.

Would possibly be my first choice, given that De Zerbi is unlikely. Think he's worth a chance if he would be open to it.

I can remember plenty of people on here pushing for Poch after Ole. Well, he isn't exactly smashing it now. I think McKenna might be a good bet perhaps in a few years time. The problem is not just the manager, not just the team. The club needs a massive overhaul starting from the owners all the way down. Ralf Rangnick was much derided but he had probably more idea of what was needed than anyone else.

Bring in Pep and Klopp and youll still find these imbeciles screwing up the basics. We need change at the top. Someone who says playing well for 4 weeks after 2 years of mediocrity does not get a player a new contract on bumper wages.

New manager + same main players = same results

This equation is as solid as einstein''s general theory of relativity outside the quantum realm.
