Who replaces Ten Hag?

Clearly our problem is that we've been playing with only Ten Hags so naturally the next manager should be Eleven Hag.

Whilst our performances have been a painful watch we’re not actually in a terrible position, and I trust Erik to get it right. Nothing against Carlo, but changing managers now isn’t the right thing to do - Erik needs time to build.

Not in a terrible position? We were hoping to challenge to some extent this year and see some progress in the actual football and performances. We've done neither. Not talking right now, don't think anything would happen until INEOS and their guys are in anyway. But if our season continues in a similar, inconsistent way then there's a decision to be made down the line. It's only been a week since that Newcastle 'performance' and, although we did better vs Chelsea and that's seemingly enough for some people, the bigger picture is that it's still nowhere near good enough. The bar is so low right now that we've lost sight of what the actual expectations were this season. But Ratcliffe isn't coming to watch us try and get top 4 each season whilst spending enough to compete.

ETH is here to stay. He is exactly what we need. Get the lazy prima donors out of the club. Build a team with quality players who will run for the badge and the manager.

That’s only because Erik massively over achieved last season from where we were the season before. (Our ‘worst ever season’) If you take that out as an anomaly then of course we weren’t going to challenge this season from a lack lustre lucky 6th finish. That was never a reasonable expectation. Especially when goal scoring was our glaring problem last season and it wasn’t addressed.
You also have to take the injury situation into account, so to be a few points off City and a few more off the top is a decent position to be in considering the performances we’ve put in. Hopefully when we get players back they’ll hit some form and we’ll be in with a shout for a top 4 finish.

I hope you're fully expecting Liverpool to surpass our title total in 5 years, cuz that's exactly what will happen if all we play for is being within a shout for top 4.

Players are the issue not management. This vicious circle has to stop. Changing manager will acheive sweet fa. We'd be back in the same position after 18-24 months after the primadonnas down tools again

It’s ridiculous management in constantly undoing any positive moves forward like the Chelsea game by then picking Martial today, we need momentum and to build confidence so rather than giving Hojlund in a start in a game he could definitely get a couple of goals we pick a player in Martial that will slow us down and is detrimental to the team.

If we go out totally in europe and lose at Anfield then he must be replaced.

Edit: No sack him now!

Any manager who doesn’t get a say in the transfers would be a good start.

I’d take McKenna tomorrow. Under the understanding that this is a long term project with a complete revamp of the squad and recruitment.

I am not sure who will replace him or even who should, but whoever it is it will at least be a temporary relief to see someone else in charge.
If only there was some way to clone Sir Alex!

Rene Muelensteen and Mick Phelan for an interim period. Time to get back the engine room from the SAF days that Moyes was stupid to get rid of. We need a “feel-good” Ole or Guus Hiddink type stand in because the players are too jaded for a manager to come in and change too much without a pre-season.

Scary that this might not be parody.

Feckin hell :wenger:

The problem is there is no real stand out candidates out there. But that shouldn’t be an excuse for not sacking him . I’d take an integrim manager until end of the season.

I just don’t get it with Ten Hag. He makes the most baffling selection decisions I’ve seen in any manager. Mainoo is fit and rested so he starts McT instead who is clearly not a PL standard player. Hojlund could make runs behind and hold up play so he starts Martial, who has done feck all this season and basically throughout his entire United career. What goes through his head?
