Oddly enough,and given the Scousers well known antipathy towards MUFC,I'd say,by far the most hateful are Leeds and City.I wouldn't include the Arse.............living in London,you just can't believe the amount of hatred that exists between them and Spurs.Hatred for the so called 'Mancs' pales into insignificance compared to that.Though clearly,there is a major rivalry because of the domination of the 2 clubs in the Premiership in the last 5 years or so.But hatred of the scale of Leeds and City?.....I think not.Though,I'd like to hear what others think.

I would have said Bolton and Leeds equally. However, having lived in Leeds for nearly two years now, I would have to say its them.

I have yet to meet a single amicable (sp?) Leeds fan. I worked with two Leeds season ticket holders over the summer, during the whole Rio saga they were just complete arseholes. If it was vice-versa Id like to think Id handle it better than they did.
 
I had to watch a game in the Elland Rd. social club one night cause my mate had my ticket and he got knicked before the game. There were old ghets in flat caps spitting at their own telly every time the camera closed in on Eric, fckin mental old 2@'s <img src="graemlins/houllier.gif" border="0" alt="[Houllier]" />

There is an article in an Israeli newspaper today about United and the title reads "Why everybody hates them?" or something like that, I haven't had time to read the whole of it yet but I think the title "ABU Nation" would suit it better.
I rather have them hate us than not care about us because that would mean we are no longer as successful as we used to be.

I play with and against about 6 Bolton fans at 7pm in a regular game at the Soccerdome. Great mates, but we simply cant talk about football (not Man Utd anyway).

hmm tough question.. but yes you were hated.. i don't know if it was as much as we are now.. but you shouldn't forget that during your successful years, liverpool gained major outside support.. which is one of the many reasons, why we are hated today..

other reasons why we are hated..other than the success we've had:

richest club in the land.

biggest stadium

largest support in the UK and worldwide.

The only time your status as being "the richest club in the world" comes up is when it comes from your gloating fans?

Which is a reason why you're so disliked...

Its more than success that people hate. Even before SAF we were the biggest club around. Christ we were even the biggest club in the land when we got relegated!

Our 'air' of superiority has always stood us in good stead. Its the reason we've always managed to recruit the best.

I fecking hated Liverpool in the 80s, I don't know why everyone seems to have such short memories, but bloody hell, I remember that every single fecking player had this shit eating arrogant grin on their faces every time they ran out of the tunnel. fecking cnuts.

Widespread hatred is the mark of a successful club. Its worse when you put local rivalries into the equation, but I reserve special venom for all Liverpool dickheads, past, present and future, player, fan or manager.

Oh dear those nice Yorkshire folk from across the pennines are such bitter bastards....during the 91/92 season i had the misfortune to bump into a Leeds bloke who spat bile and hatred and seemed to be tormented by the fact that we only beat Leeds to the championsip in 65/66 ( i think ) by mere goal average.....when Leeds robbed us of the title in the same season the bloke was like the devil incarnate.....making aeroplane motions ( the sick feck ) everytime he saw me and delighted in telling me that Leeds would go down in history as the last ever winners of the 1st division.....so imagine my joy 12 months later when i was able to remind him of that comment and to point out that he was a history student and that Man Utd would go down in history as the 1st winners of the new premiership....helped by a guy called.....yes youve guessed it....Eric Cantona....but the classic was the 93/94 season when he spat put that United still hadnt proved nowt and we were lucky to pip villa due to an Oldham victory the day before......gawwwd the man was pulling his hair out at the end of that season...when we had not only regained our title but had done the double with a 4-0 win over Chelsea in the F.A. cup final....its strange, but Joe ( the guys name ) never frequents that boozer now......sweet so sweet
