Who do you think will win the World Cup and why?

I don't think Douglas Costa is a failure (ask Juve fans), neither Willian is average. They both come off the bench for Brazil anyways.

He's still not showing up when it counts. Good-weather footballer. Also, he's not having a good season is he? And when it comes to international wingers, Willian certainly isn't something exciting or special. Kinda like Pedro, for example. And of course they are both on the bench for Brazil, but that's not the point here.

Willian plays extremely well for us though. At one point, he was Brazil best player even outperforming Neymar.

He's a tool working well in certain systems, like Mandzukic did for us in our 2013 CL campaign for example.

Willian is a very good footballer, sublime touch and drive. Tool? Get over yourself, I’d love him at Man Utd

Anyway back to the OP

Russia - they’ll cheat and stick something in everyone’s food to give them the squits

Spain.

Their midfield is just ridiculous. Only issue for them might be striker. Costa is the best but might not fit their style of play. Morata is low on confidence. Maybe Rodrigo will start if not Costa.

Brazil, Spain or Germany. France and Belgium aren't matured enough (not age-wise, if you understand what I mean). I'd be rooting for Nigeria and England though.

Brazil
Allison/Ederson
Alves Silva Miranda Marcelo
Casmiero
Paulinho Fernandinho
Coutinho Jesus/Firmino Neymar

Spain
World's best
Carvajal Pique/Azpilicueta Ramos Alba
Koke
Alcantara Iniesta
Silva Costa Isco

Germany
Neuer/Ter Stegen
Kimmich Hummels Boateng Hector
Kroos Khedira
Muller Ozil Draxler
Werner
My Combined XI
De Gea
Carvajal Miranda Ramos Marcelo
Casmiero
Alcantara Kroos
Muller Costa Neymar
When you consider that 5 ofor these players play for RM you can only wonder.

Brazil 4
Spain 5
Germany 2

These three squads have to be the favorites but I have my doubts about how well Brazil will match up against the other two. That Brazilian midfield is very high energy but they'll spend a lot of time chasing shadows and have a hard time controlling a match against Germany or Spain. That Brazilian backline is also pretty creaky and old. And despite their strong run in qualifying, this Brazilian team hasn't really faced many truly tough tests or tactical challenges. I can see this being a tournament where Brazil are everybody's darlings in the early going, playing stylish football and beating lesser teams with ease, then they run into Germany or Spain in the knockouts and they can't maintain possession, can't beat a high press, their old defense makes a couple mistakes, and a better trained team just slams the door, 2-0 or 2-1.

I do believe Brazil has faced tough tests playing the South-American WCQ, that´s arguably the toughest route to the WC.
Having said that, I completely agree about their defense being weak.

Used Telegraph's World Cup Predictor and according to that France won the tournament after beating Germany in the final. I also think it's a long-overdue for England to have a good campaign after so many years as well. So, that's my predicition :

Argentina winning the WC would be a huge surprise (more than Leicester winning the Premier League) considering how bad they are.

If you purely look at the selection on paper, Belgium have a fantastic squad. They have world class talent everywhere.

Alderweireld, Vertonghen and Kompany at the back.

Dembele, De Bruyne in midfield.

Lukaku, Hazard and Mertens up front.

And one of the better keepers in the world in Courois. (Though his current season is meh).

Now seeing as they speak the same language I do, I should root for them, but I can't. I just can't. They're supposed to be our shitty little neighbour whom we laugh at when it comes to football.

Dark times.

Panama or Saudi Arabia winning the WC would be less of a surprise than Leicester winning the PL.
