As for the muppets , they obviously can't be stopped. But like most people I think our business will be done quickly. However, if in an unlikely case Di Maria, RVP or Mata gets offloaded or Real Madrid implodes after winning nothing it'll probably be Bale. Or a goalkeeper

Bale - As others have said, United will get their main business done early this summer. However, the British press love Bale, and have already tried to set the agenda of whoever signs him will win the title next season.

Can't be Bale, doesn't have the right ingredients for a true muppet thread:
- There has to be an element of the impossible regarding the transfer - Bale is being booed by the fans and had a poor season, its not unlikely that both him and Real are considering their options. Bale signing for United is much more believable than Vidal, Thiago or Hazard given the background.
- There has to be a consensus amongst the forumers that the player is key to our success and that we should sign him whatever the cost - currently in the Bale thread even the people who rate him are finding it hard to justify the price.
- There has to be mass muppet suicide and abject depression when the window shuts and we miss the target - I think even the people who think he will be good for us would probably just move on quickly.
