Which Goalkeeper?

Agree with the first point, but as for the second, where the hell are you going to find that?

I think Cudicini is good enough to play for us. His performance is stable, never being beaten easily, and has the merit of already well proven in EPL.

I agree that he is a very good keeper. But would they let him go?

he is over-rated. Buffon was better even when he was 18.

And if he is really that good tell me why he is behind James and Seaman in the pecking order?

The only young England goalkeeper I admire will have a chance to become world class is Krikland. Too bad he is a scouser.

They won't let him go easily. But there's no harm to have a try.

I thought Chelsea are almost as deep as Leeds in the financial dodo?

Carini, the Uruguayan NT keeper, would also be high on my list. Is he still backing up Buffon at Juventus?[/QB][/QUOTE]

Forget about Carini , he plays for Standard now in the Belgian leage and he's making blunders almost every game!!!

goalkeepers I would like to have are:
buffon (difficult to get I think)
Robinson(great talent)
Landreau(quality keeper)
Cudicini(great season)

But I hope for our own youth with Steele being one of the best keepers of his age I've heard!!

Toldo is far and away the best keeper around, we should have bought him to replace Schmikes when he was at Fiorentina. It would cost too much to get him now.

Realistically Robinson's probably our best bet. He would solve the keeper problem for the next 10 years.

I´d love to get my and utd hands on Toldo, that man is So good, anyone remember that Euro 2000 game against the Deutch where he saved like 4 penalities and everything else.

Here here.....he's a little mad which is always a good thing in a keeper.....he's got CL experience - more than Robinson, Rustu, Cudicini.

You might think I'm baised...but I'm getting fed up with Barthez. He has been subbed 9 times in his Man Utd career, not to mention some of his blunders.

He hasn't shown the quality that we could use as a long term replacement for Schemeical.

Whilst everyone has been jeeing Giggs and Beckham. I've been jeering Barthez. Against Real at OT he gave too much room for Ronaldo's first goal.

I'd like to see another qality player, who isn't a midget, to replace Barthez, someone like Robinson or Rustu.

buffon and toldo is GREAT keeper..
but they r definitely out of our reach!!!
imagine how much $$$ we need to buy buffon as juve bought him for i think 30m?

You have to be feckin' loking?! Buffon cost Juve £32 million quid! You think Man Utd whould want him?

Peter Chech, reminds me of Schmeical's presence, this guy loooks big and he's only 20.

Maybe because we are after him the Arse have turned to Robinson.

bosnich is gonna be available in september,,get him for a bargain and maybe sign calamity james and put them both between the pipes, have to watch bosnitch with the white lines on the field though... <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

I feel Fergie is looking for someone who is really verbal, shouts at the back four a wee bit, give them the wake up call.

My choice:
James
Reasons:
Cheap, if WHUFC go down.
Experienced(England set-up)
Knows our back four, through the England set-up.

P.S And don`t say he is shite, cus is is`nt.

Sorry Waz. He's shite. ;)
O.K a bit unfair, maybe. But James to replace Barthez, Carroll or Ricardo? why replay the scousers mistakes years after they made them? Should we buy Phil Babb as well?

and Julian Dicks an all. But they were only one or two players away from winning the Premiership you know. ;)

Interesting to note Robinson say he wouldn't want to go to London(because of his dogs!!). Arsenal smokescreen or "come and get me" plea to United? :)

WAZ...james is total shiteeee.. you just said that for a laugh didn't you ??? <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />
