Which clubs are realistic buyers for Haaland next season?

Looks like Real will definitely be in the race.

Well given there was a very short list of clubs that went in for Messi, you have to think it's going to be one of them so I think it will almost certainly be Spurs.

Plus I hear he really likes cheese.

Who would sign him, vs where would he want to go. To me he seems like an ambitious guy who is concerned with building his legacy.

Us - obviously. We want him, and he likes us.
Madrid - Always a draw for any player, they will sign Mbappe but they always conjure up money when they need it.
Bayern - I'd say he's 'done' the Bundesliga now and needs to move up a level but if he really likes Germany, Bayern are as good any in Europe. Could they afford him? They don't usually spend big.
PSG - if he wants a step up from Germany he knows it's not to be found in France. I can't see him wanting to play there though they could easily afford him.
Barcelona - he'd go there, but they're skint.
City - He'd go there but they have Kane. Surely they can't have 2 of the 3 best pure strikers in world football on their books at once, in a team that doesn't play with pure strikers. Even for Pep's chequebook that would be overkill.
Chelsea - they're a lesser name for him, and they will be signing Lukaku. It will take them longer than a season to realise he's shit and they need an upgrade.
Juventus - Serie A is falling apart at the moment, I can't see him going there or Juventus spending 100m+ on anybody.
Liverpool - I'm not sure they're big enough for him, and they can't afford him.

So looks like it's us v Madrid, which always ends well for us.

Haaland is not basketball player.

I think the only realistic options would be Man United, Man City, PSG and Real Madrid.

Man City: Depends if they get Kane this summer and if not this summer and play the season without a striker, would they go in for Kane next summer or go for Haaland knowing he has a £65m release clause? Just not sure if Haaland suits Pep's style and City is probably the least likely destination out of the 4 clubs.

PSG: Only way I see them getting him is if Mbappe moves to Real Madrid and if they clear out a couple of their squad player who is on at least a relatively higher wage as Messi and Neymar are on insane wages and Haaland would most likely be on something ridiculous as well.

Real Madrid: Only see them getting Haaland if Mbappe stays at PSG. Then again I don't know how much of a financial mess they are in as they still appear to be pushing for this European Super League. Benzema has extended his contract until 2023 and he is still one of the best strikers in the world, would they still go for Haaland when Benzema is still performing at a very high level? Just worried that as Madrid like to always buy a flashy new toy they will push hard for him as he will be hugely discounted and with Bale's astronomical contract coming to an end next summer, Madrid can just move his wages onto Haaland!

Man United: Then there is us, who I feel have a genuine chance of getting him. If we have a good season, the fact we also have Ole who Haaland and his family know very well. Haaland seemed to have a good relationship with Sancho both on and off the pitch and he could have a big say in tempting him to come to us. I think Man United and Real Madrid would be the 2 favourites to sign Haaland.

I’m blown away that the Caf is so naive. Both Mbappe and Haaland want massive paydays, along with trophies and Ballon D’Ors.

Both Mbappe and Haaland will get around or over £500k/week. La Liga and the PL have the most marketing/advertising off field revenue opportunities, with the PL number 1.

Let’s go through this, assuming City sign Kane and Lukaku goes to Chelsea.

Barca: stuck with Griezmann and massive salary cap issues. No
City: Just signed Kane. Why would Haaland want another bright light to dim his star? No.
Bayern: will never sanction those kinds of wages. It’s not in their DNA. No.
Liverpool: I don’t think their financial structure will allow it. They may move Salah on to make it possible, but who will buy him? Unlikely.
Juventus: they are in a tricky financial situation. Ronaldo would presumably leave and they could afford 500k/week. Unlikely.
Chelsea: Abromovic is a wild card. He might just buy Lukaku and Haaland. If Lukaku performs well, they probably wouldn’t. Maybe.
Real Madrid: most likely prefer Mbappe. If Mbappe moves to Real, they still have to meet salary cap rules, so it will be difficult. Maybe.
PSG: with Mbappe gone, this is a chance to have a striker for 10 years. The additional draw to play with Messi and Neymar would be enticing. Not the best league, to be frank. A real contender.
Man United: Can meet his wage demands. Maximizes off field earnings. A manager he’s played for previously. Wide open slot at No. 9. The leading contender.

My opinion could be suicidal but as we are all speculating onto how the future transfers are going to pan out, here's my say:

Next season I'd give us 60+% chance of getting him. One can really picture that happening with Ole, Sancho, the Premier League, huge club with decent financial power, and, definitely, looking at how other teams are moving in the marken it is hard to picture a better scenario for any other team.

Then we have the Raiola Problem, and as much as I despise him, much like most of us here, the tide might be calmer if we have two of his most prized assets happily tied down, we could even save some extra money in "agent fees" if we manage to negotiate for both or something. Not that I think the greedy man will budge or anything but it can come as a better strategy down the line.

PS: CDM - Pogba - Fernandes // Sancho - Haaland - Rashford

Alright. I'm in.

The plastic clubs will be at the front of the queue for every major talent from now until the day when everyone else, including the authorities get a backbone and stop them corrupting and decimating the sport.

They can easily accomodate both.

And they could easily sell Kane after 1-2 years.
I very much doubt it. Intrigued to know how they can fit in two number 9s though unless they suddenly play 4-4-2. They also won’t spent £100 million on Kane to shift him immediately again. Don’t think they get Kane this summer though anyway.

Surely he’ll go to Bayern. They always hoover up the best players in their league, and they’re going to need a replacement for Lewandowski sooner or later. Who else do you replace arguably the best striker in the world with? Could even see Lewandowski going back to Dortmund as part of a deal.

I’d like to think we’ve got more pros has to why he should join. He’s worked with Solskjær before and they have a good relationship… we’ve just signed sancho which I think was uniteds plan to help get haaland the year after, they absolutely love playing together. The only issue is if Real Madrid come calling for him then it is very hard for players to say no to Madrid. I do think Mbappe is Madrid’s priority though, Chelsea have just signed lukaku, city will probably have Kane, Liverpool can’t afford him. If he moves to the prem then surely we’re front runners. We need to sign a DM this summer though just so we can put 100% in signing him next season.

My opinion in this order:
City (if they don't get Kane)
Bayern
United
Real Madrid
Juventus

Can't see P$G going in for him if they complete the Messi transfer. Or Chelsea either once they wrap up Rom.

I do like how our fans think he will come to us when we havent won a league title since 2013 and last reached the CL final in 2011.

Yeh we are shoe in's for haaland over Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern, Chelsea, City, PSG, Liverpool. All teams who have won their domestic leagues more recently than us and got to the CL final more recently than us.

You can make a case for every team listed.

It would be nice to have him, however i don't think the glazers will sign off on the enormity of the finanical package required.

It wouldn't suprise me if he did a sideways move to PSG. The temptation to play a season or two with Neymar and Messi must be huge.

Real Madrid and PSG will offer us very hard competition next year.
  1. Financial muscles.
  2. Both of them need a CF (maybe desperate).
  3. Opportunity to play with Messi or Mbappe (once in a lifetime opportunity?).
  4. CL guarantors (Haaland on the hunt for record).
  5. Easy transition to the French league (opportunity to score a lot of goals).
Our best chance to get Haaland is now and no later than January (while PSG focus on Messi and RM on Mbappe).

City have their focus on Kane because they already know United is Haaland’s preferred choice in PL.
