It used to be that when sky sources said something, it was cause for muppet fever. Now they're pants. Because of the rise of Twitter maybe?

In the last month they've said we want Keane, Griezmann, James, De Vrij, Naingollan (sp), Lindelof, Perasic.. That's just off the top of my head

They been pants ever since Benatia bullshit a few years back.

It's because of SkyBet, the poor man's scratchcards.

They've been shite since Hazard saga.

To be fair Hazard wasn't their fault, SAF did admit we pulled out of his and Nasri deals because of agent fees. Benatia was also close to us but we had no chance the second Bayern came in for him.

With all these players we were linked with before or at the same time with outher outlets, some even more reliable. Ok Benatia was really bad. Gündogan was reported in Der Westen as done and it was covered by a reliable journo regarding Dortmund. I dont think they are shit, but they are getting some things wrong

They've always been shit. "Sky sources" just means 'what our interns found on Twitter'.

Their "sources" are Twitter.

Remember when some geezer on Twitter made up a story about a fake player called Yerda Selzavon joining Cardiff and they completely bought it?

Last summer was a low for them. They reported widely known stories days after everyone else.
It was honestly embarassing to watch.

Since they became 'SkySportsHQ' they have gone for the sensational and realised that they can spout shit and people will still go back every summer and believe them. 'Sky Sources' has become Twitter/Sky Bet flurries.

They are still more reliable than most.

Gundogan was the straw that broke the camels back. They said we signed him. Flat out. I was over the moon. Then nothing. Feck off sky sports.

We dodged a bullet. He passed away shortly after joining City.

Sky have became hit and miss recently. BBC are the best source for transfers in this country. Foreign journalists seem to get the scoop on deals way before journalists here do mind.

We can't jest about that anymore after our Rojo and Ibra shirts.
Both were embarrassing. I can only hope Rooney doesn't get subbed off to a mid-match guard of honour in the 10th minute.

To those nerdy enough to follow these things closely it became apparent that following individual journalists and their track record was more reliable than any particular news agency.

Twitter, as you rightly mention, made this much easier.

Instagram posts and likes and follows have become even more reliable than any journalist. If Griezmann likes a Manchester United pic or follows Jessie Lingard in twitter just know it's done dealio

I haven't follow british media long time or often, but i have always think why people think Skysport is reliable. I mean, they are not Sun but nothing like BBC either. I don't rate them high. I try to not hope too much before Boufhasi/Di Marzio/BBC comfirm rumours.

They realised they could make money out of numpties betting on what they said.

Free money

Actual sourcing takes money, the public have an insatiable appetite for transfer bollocks and they can make money from Skybet

From featuring on the weather girls smash hit 'its raining men' to this. Such a shame.

They're still one of the more reliable outlets for transfers, most of the stuff on twitter is rubbish anyway. Like that Darren Can from a few years ago, disappeared off the scene now because his "sources" were about as good as the ones on football rumours.

They've never been good or reliable. They're purely there to drive people to Sky Bet and they get everything from Twitter.

They class Guillem Balague as one of their key sources. That says it all.
