What would be the perfect Transfer Window for our rebuild?

Promote Laird, Mejbri, Garner / Levitt or both, Garnacho, Pellistri, Diallo, Fernandez and one of Vitek or Kovar.

Yeah, I know, am not asking for much.

I think it depends on the manager and style of play. Nunez would be good at counter attacking where you want them to try.

Depends what ETH wants.
 
It's more important who we get rid of than who we buy imo.
 
My perfect transfer window this summer would be. If we could get these players in we could challenge for honours next season.

Attitude is the biggest problem at this club. Back in the day when people had no idea what formations were and players kept running behind the ball, those players had a better attitude towards football than these United players. We can definitely buy 3 to 4 players with the right attitude but I'm sure nothing will change with just an addition of players. If Ronaldo cannot make these goons work hard, I don't know who else can. I hope ETH has a difficult training schedule for these players and tightens their ropes. He needs to get these players in order and change the attitude around the locker room. Players don't run this club but we fans do. They need to get their act together or they will be banished should be the message. Buying and selling the players is another story altogether.

I doubt we are going to see so many transfers. I think the media is fabricating those links. Ten Hag is going to realise quickly that many of those players are very good, they are just not working well as an unity.
 
If we don't get two new starting Midfielders this summer it's a failure no matter what other business we do.

Yeah the midfield has been neglected for way too long so would look at prioritising that area,even put it above a striker or right sided wide player.
 
For me, the perfect summer window involves us getting in 8 or 9 players who I had previously never heard of who end up being so thoroughly well scouted that they hit the ground running and/or develop into top players for the club

I'm not saying that I do know better than the people paid millions to make footballing decisions, but I really am sick of feeling like I might!

In terms of positions, midfielders and fullbacks are the priority. A left footed wide attacker and a genuine number 9 who can play with his back to goal would be next up on the list. If there's any change, I guess a centre back would be a good idea.
 
Manchester City's loss yesterday to Madrid will shake up the transfer period even more than expected I believe. The main plan would be to have a legit plan and execute it. Not letting jerk reactions or other clubs musings get us in binds.

First action is to clear out squad.
Matic, Pogba, Mata and Cavanni are gone and as soon as they are off the books it allows us to have a better idea of the squad.

Next up would be the "on the fence" players we have.... either decide to keep or sell...
Martial, Lindgard, Baily, Rashford, Jones and Ronaldo need to be told what the plan is...

Here is where it gets tricky... I can see one or two of those players that want to leave, actually end up staying. Lindgard comes to mind. ETH will come in with thoughts to execute and may realize that we have some of the pieces we need, but they need to be polished.

After that, we need to hit the market hard and see where we can improve. A lot of work ahead of us, but this one window can clear up our direction greatly.

We , meaning blind united fans put ourselves through this every season , everyone of us has guessed whose coming and going and it never pans out that way, am I the only united fan who simply doesn’t care who we sign anymore. I just don’t !

Our issues are more deep rooted, I’m more interested in the youth cup final than watching these overpaid pampered bottlers. Bring back Garner, Laird, promote Youth in the Europa League and cup competitions, decide on a pattern , get rid of any player who doesn’t want to buy into that but please Mr Ten Hag don’t start looking at Tottenham’s cast offs like Stephen Bergwin, if the club is serious then go get the best in class available. Chelsea could be vulnerable, Spurs like to sell and let’s get serious with the following;

Reece James - probably on a 1/4 of shaw wages and 1/2 Bissaka
Ngolo Kante - 30 but won’t age for 5 years
Or D Rice - 100m and what ?
H Kane - still the best CFW in PL
C Erikssen - Free what’s there to think about
Then you can experiment with a couple like Anthony and J Timber?

We’ve been down this route before and I see very little difference from LVH when he brought 6 players, including 2 elite world stars at the time but played sideways football and won an Fa Cup but hey he actually did win something but god was the football terrible.

Sitting midfielder and deep lying midfield playmaker with two advancing and marauding wing backs are the way every top modern football team plays and breaks down the opposition with inverted strikers creating in to out overloads, it’s not rocket science however United under 4 managers have confused the footballing world for 9 years now with a so called ‘super club’ playing , low block, defensive counterattacking football which is completely un functional and relies on individual brilliance to win a football match, we haven’t been a team since 2013, so I for wish these overpaid pampered players who spend too much time on social media jog on and ETH promotes youth and hungry talented players who have to produce results to get big contracts.

Big part of the perfect rebuild is selling certain players on top of those leaving free, a good ten names to be considered in my opinion, obviously wont all leave.

We have 5 quality first eleven players at best (in form) so really six to that need to be added and there are another 4 positions in the squad need strengthening, so I would say 10 players different from how we were the start of the season, dont all need to be signings...but we need a balance from

1) Youth - PLayers that improve the first eleven? - We have had ELanga, Hannibal and Garnacho gettign some involvement...not sure any improve he first eleven, but they do....

2) YOuth improvign the squad - Could possibly add to the above names Amad, Pellestri, ALvaro Fernandez, Mengi, Garner - Think we definately need 4/5 from that pool of youth players and maybe a surprise pushing mroe regularly for math day squads.

3) Possible bargains that provide genuine competition for first team places. We see the names like Enzo Fernandes, Djed Spence, Ekitike, Macacio etc, we definately need a couple of these types of signings around £15m I feel whether its these names or others but theres players in our first eleven that have been poor or missing from action and the replacements havent taken chances. Big squad but lackign quality

4) PLayers that improve our first eleven reasonably prices - Not many players around this price point, but there are a few good playmakers like Neves, Caqueret, Tielmans who add more technique but also positioning and more nouse defensively. In mont mad on either of the premiership names tbh but I like Caqueret and of coruse Kamara for a free

5) Quality starters - See names like Timber, Antony around £45m mark, would add Giouri to that group as well personally, but genuine quality

6) Game changers - So far these kind of signings havent really worked recently right back to Pogba, more recently Maguire (fee only), Vatane and SAncho even so far. Only (and only in his first season for me) Fernandes has been a success and of coruse ROnaldo. But we have generally signed the wrong ones before this season which is too early to judge I feel and masively missed out on Camavinga and Bellingham. There are a few massive massive talents around Europe maybe attaimable maybe not but Gvardiol, Nkunku, Fofana, Bellingham, Rice, DeJOng, Sulemana are a few that spring to mind....of coruse some of these prices are just mad but if we can get one such player and for me in terms of price and what they bring its Gvardiol,

For me a great summer rebuild would be 10-15 players out, 4/5 youth players more prominent within the squad next season, 2/3 succesful bargains, 2/3 quality additions and maybe one game changer type signings but getting maybe 6/7 in from £200m is probably not feasible in terms of getting a game changeer
 
It will not be a perfect transfer window. Ralf’s ‘change everybody bar the goalkeeper’ isn’t happening.

If Ten Hag evolves the side similarly to how he did at Ajax, which would make sense since we don't have a bunch of ball playing defenders or chemistry to play this style, which isn't necessarily higher risk than the Schone/De Jong one because that team did often press so high, but it's definitely more of a Pep style team than that one was, then it looks like this:

Camavinga looks the business but he wanted Madrid and who knows if we pushed for him or our best card (much higher chance to start immediately) was a big factor for him, or at his age even a bit warying.

Then I guess to transform to the current side you'd just need to sign one more midfielder in 2023, either move the #8 back to play as the #6 or sign another one and move the #8 to one side of a midfield 3 (Gravenberch's role) with VDB in the role Klassen was playing and Berghuis won. Or maybe a young player like Garner or Hannibal breaks out, though that feels a couple years away from them not being backups.

But it's a lot easier to peg teams back when the only technically and pass and moving wise average player on the team is Varane and maybe the goalkeeper, instead of McTominay, Wan-Bissaka and others out there.

I like all of this however Bruno will not play wide left ETH likes inverted strikers like Pep who play really wide and hug the touch line with pace, then his Full backs / Wing Backs push up on either side to counter balance as inverted play makers. Some fans where saying how great Telles and Dalot where 3 or 4 games into Ralph’s Reign now they realise Luke Shaw when fit is 3 times the player either is, so let’s get Luke Fit, Sell Teles whose just not fit to be at united and work on Diego Dalot as a squad player. We currently have 1 and half decent players for 4 positions, now short term you can bring Brandon and Eithan Laird back, Sell AWB and Alex Teles and hope to get £30m for both , hope being speculative at best, then we need to go buy the best young left back we can get for that money and maybe look to pick up a veteran right back shamus Coleman(33) or Thomas Meunier (30) for free or £20M preferably the latter who is a United fan. We need men in the defence not boys who play Call of Duty til 4am the night before a big game then slide into their mates girlfriends DM, yep this is how some of the modern young united players act, entitled pompous arrogant idiots that have done nothing to merit Such blind fan adulation!
We should win a point against palace , but certainly not guaranteed with this team to qualify for the Europa League next year allowing Eric Ten Hag to field two teams one for the 17 games this competition could set and 4 or 5 cup games in two cup competitions. united would then need a separate team for the PL team of 38 games and simple not worry about Thursday Sunday schedules! If we are to improve our dismal 43% win rate this season in the PL then we will need 3 or 4 outstanding wing backs all fit and 4 decent options at CB plus players playing in their familiar position week in week out. We also need every player including Bruno and Harry to know if They don’t play well that week, someone just as good will play the following week. The Club need to win 66% of our PL games to make Top 4 which guarantees 75 points, that’s stage number 2, Stage no 1 is quickly see from the youth squad and the current squad who is worth keeping by playing in Europa and cup competitions.

This is what’s needs to be done but expect only half at best from the clowns who run our beloved football side!

Most of the United fan base could get behind a rebuild that included Garnacho, Elanga, Pellistri , James Garner and more importantly a new mentality with Ronaldo as the old guard enforcing old values and good practice. Give Ronaldo a coach job at the end of the season and let him develop his ambition too. I definitely see Dean Henderson being made no 1 under ETH because of his ability with his feet so in a perfect world a complete rebuild with two distinct teams but one definite playing style 4-1-2-3 attacking football, high lines, young players expressing themselves. when all our attack is 1-2-3-4 flooding the final Third scoring goals, not conversing nearly 60 goals in the PL!

* Bruno and Maguire need to both concentrate on their football and make sure they are good enough to get in the team. Wouldn’t surprise me if they both lose their place! And in this squad there is competition and good practice everywhere, you don’t train we’ll you don’t play because there is a player as good if not better than you with the right attitude. Any moles and you get sold, simple.

There is no time for half measures only a full scale reset and rebuild, pampered, spoilt entitled players will be shipped out the door asap. This is the only way Eric Ten Hag has a chance of success, however will the board allow him to do something as radical as, this only time will tell!
In fairness there are an awful lot of good players on a free this summer so 8 or 9 in and 12 or 13 out is not an impossible task.
What I’m saying in a convoluted way is that I love your ideas but it needs to be even more, we need 9 or 10 in Ralf has only got one thing right during his tenure and that was his statement last week when he said a United need 10 new players.

If we only have 125-150m to buy for we serious should be looking at the free transfer market as well. Erikssen, Kamara, Dybala and Dembele would be 4 nice additions. Dybala and Dembele would ask for some serious money, but our wage budget should be decent as well with all the outgoings. Out of those 4 i would go for Erikssen and Kamara in addition to 3 quality signings. 4 or 5 if we have the budget for it (200m+)

I'm a big Meunier fan, but he's been shaky at best and has a pretty serious injury.
Kessie already signed for Barcelona.
 
Urgent Problem Areas (this window):
DM - Tchouameni (potentially world class at non-prohibitive market value). If we can't get him, I'd love Bennacer holding the midfield.
MF - Sangaré (Good progressive midfielder, not too expensive)
RB - Matheuzinho (Uber athletic brazilian right back that progresses the ball through passing and carrying well. Small but also very strong in the air).
FW - Jovic (Would be a value signings. Hasn't performed well at Madrid but his underlying stats are still phenomenal and would be a high upside gamble)/Try to pinch Liam Delap from CIty. Not getting the opportunities someone of his talent probably deserves so could be a potential value signing for us.

Need bodies (next two windows)
CB - Schotterbeck was my favourite but he went to Dortmund for pennies. Loic Bade seems to have fallen out of favour at Rennes but was really good last year and likely good enough as our fourth choice CB to begin with, with the carrot of being able to jump past any of the top three if he performs well.
RW - Rayan Cherki is not signing the contract Lyon offered and definitely has world class potential but could be a wild card given his reputation.
GK - Gavin Bazunu. I'm Irish and this lad has been incredible for us. Well able to play out with his feet and has pulled off some amazing saves including a penalty vs Ronaldo.
LB - Ait Nouri at Wolves would be a good deputy to Shaw. Has a lot of potential.
 
Whoever we get it would be great to get them announced early. Going into the earlier than usual start to the season trying to find whoever is leftover is going to hurt our whole campaign. With the anticipated 4+ signings that could go straight into the first XI time on tour and the training ground is critical. Also the longer we leave things the more I fear being mugged off as usual.

Maybe Kamara then, still think Meunièr gives us something solid at right back and huge improvement.
 
As long as we get a DLP who can keep the ball and keep the team ticking, the rest I’m sure we’ll figure out. That’s the one position we consistently either ignore or get horribly wrong.
 
The worry is that City and Liverpool are already making their big moves in Haaland and Tchouameni while we are not just playing catch up on the pitch but this summer too. Nothing new I guess
 
Not signing either of Phillips or Richarlison.
