What would be an acceptable offer for Pogba?

Hypothetically, what would happen if we were to make Pogba available in a straight swap deal with some of our Premier League rivals. Some example scenarios:

- Pogba for Lucas Torreira (Arsenal)

- Pogba for Kevin de Bruyne (Man City)

- Pogba for Jorginho (Chelsea)

- Pogba for N'Golo Kante (Chelsea)

- Pogba for Christian Eriksen (Spurs)

- Pogba for Dele Alli (Spurs)

I don't think any of those offers would be taken, and most would probably be met with incredulous laughter. Honestly, I don't even think Liverpool would entertain a swap for Jordan Henderson.

We're likely to make a loss on Paul Pogba when we sell him - his value to a Premier League team is less than any of the players I listed above. Our best chance of a decent fee is for a southern European team to come in for him, and that would also be the best outcome for Paul Pogba himself. If we can get £50 million, that would be reasonable.
Liverpool wouldn't swap Pogba for Henderson? That's the best one so far!
I wouldn't swap him for any of those players.

That may be the worst post in Caf history looking back, but to be fair things were very bleak then and Jose had a fair few brainwashed. Still have to see him keep up this great form (tbh, I'd call it great productivity rather than amazing performances from Pogba under Ole so far)

From that list, De Bruyne is the only one who is on Pogba's level (actually, he is better) with Erikson close but not as good. The others though, it is laughable to mention in the same sentence as Pogba, unless the sentence is 'Paul is so much better than those feckers'.

Even when Jose was doing okay it was clear he was being unduly harsh with Pogba by shackling him too puch. Every time I watch Pogba play it isclear he is the creative engine of our team and when we need goals he always looks to me like the player who could come up with something. Unfortunately united have lacked a creative midfielder for a long time (and we have done okay without one too) and some fans have no patience left for the room that a creative players needs to thrive because when you go for a great pass some times it won't work.

For me we should never be selling Pogba unless the player wants to go and even then we should be looking at close to 200M (Coutinho, clearly a lesser player, went for 135M and markets have moved up too). If SAF had today's Pogba in his last 5-6 years we would definitely have not lost the two close titles to Chelsea and City and might have added another CL too. Our team was otherwise great and efficient, only needed a better creative spark which even the great man acknowledged himself (going in for Hazard, having to extend Scholes contract etc.). Unfortunately its not easy to find such players and SAF never found anything within the value he was looking for. But now that we have one, we should definitely and firmly stay put.

Would take a huge offer before United entertain any offer, his commercial impact is almost more important to them (especially the likes of Woodward) than his performances on the pitch. Maybe £120-£150m.

Despite Pogba’s much improved performances & appears to be happy, I just get the feeling that he’s the type that if likes of Real or Barca ever get serious about him he’d have his head turned & want to leave

I don't know where all these legends and myths of pogba's marketing prowess come from. Even De Gea has double his followers on Twitter. Cristiano 12x more.

Just comes across to me as Pogba's handlers astroturfing here.

In that same vein, he's got 3x the followers Dave has on IG

He's 100% one of the most marketable players in the world

That's true of a whole host of players, especially those of an elite class.

There's nothing special about Pogba in this regard.

When I ever I want a laugh I always go and read through some of the earlier comments on this thread. Obviously, the now famous Steerpike's "Lverpool wouldn't swap Hendo for him" :smirk::smirk::smirk:

.

I'd argue the contrary, he has massive crossover appeal moreso than most players and is a great promoter.

I mean he was named the most marketable athlete period last year, ahead of the most established athletes in world sport, and has been in the top 5 since his United move

It's no coincidence that United club valuation has risen to being the most valuable club in the world regardless of the sport while he's been with us. It was trending upwards already but it never increased at the rate that it has the last 2 years

Dear Lord

300m, can't believe we signed him for 100m.

Name a midfielder in the world that can do what he's doing atm....
