What was the single biggest factor in the defeat to Everton.

Not being clinical enough in front of goal , when we got our chances.

So you think that even with out first choice defence we would have struggled or that without them we should still have been able to beat them?

I'd loved to have had Smalling out there, he would never have taken than treatment from Fellaini.

Having to play our best midfielder in central defense against one of the most aerially dominant attackers in the league.

Loads of possession, decent passing, only let one goal in...

Lack of sharpness in front of goal, and the failure to create clear cut chances.

You're just bitter because you spent half your student life going round saying less when you should have said fewer. Like some sort of half-wit.

He doesn't know what concise means either. To be honest, I'm not sure where all the hype comes from.

Personally, it was the lack of understanding between the midfield and the forwards. Too many players in the same area, bumping each other in the box. Wanting to walk with the ball in the goal.

P.s.

This discussion reminded me why I stopped coming here.

So many wise guys taking the piss on the ones that actually want to discuss united stuff. Too many stand up comedian wannabees.

If I was a moderator, I would start deleting post that are not related to the topic. It would a full time job for a while.

Fewer is for old people and ponces.

One line, I gave you! What do you want from me?

Great. Another thread turns into grammar bollocks. Joy of joys.

Maybe if you made me a nice grammar sticky in the General we could decant the bollocks into that?

One paced, predictable attacking play.

With that defence i'd factor in conceding a goal from the start, Howard was barely tested over 90 minutes.

It's a fairly open forum Alek, one has to ignore some things.

The factor of our defence lacking so much means little as we couldn't score either but seeing as how the question is worded this is the answer I'd go with and not the 'we scored less/fewer' as technically you don't need to score at all to avoid defeat.

We lost because we failed to sustain a pace where the qualitative difference between the teams would have been more decisive than working spirit.

For what it's worth, I'm not convinced that any of our centre halves (barring a fully fit Vidić) would have bested Fellaini yesterday. We'd have still been in all sorts of trouble. Maybe we'd have contested the header better that led to the winner though.

All of our players deciding to cross like Bebe vs Wolves. Last season our wing play was basically our only form of attacking so when Nani decides to cross like he did yesterday of course we won't get anywhere.

I'm losing the will to live reading all the drama here about last night's game, it's bordering on the hysterical at times. So. with no hyperbole, what in your opinion, in one concise sentence was the reason we lost last night?

For me it was having 4 centre backs injured.

edit - the key here is focus, thus the phrases 'single biggest factor' and one concise sentence. Gimps.

Biggest shock factor? How much more skilled on the ball and technically advanced Kagawa looked compared to the rest of our players.

And Carrick marking Fellaini.
