Gaming What is the best video game soundtrack ever

Anyone who says FF 12 in the next post is trolling or has bad taste. The others I understand :D .

You are all correct

Also I’d not heard the name Quackshot for about 20 years. I used to rent it quite often. It was a hard game, but yes soundtrack was class.

Might not be the most amazing ingame soundtrack, but I really like listening to the Stellaris soundtrack every once in a while, even when not playing the game. It's nice, relaxing, goes well with both active listening and as background noise.

Star Control 2. Awesome tunes that perfectly fit the situations and people, and had amazing sound quality back when the game came out, in 1992.

The problem is I couldn’t tell you what it sounds like after about the first six levels because I never got that far.

Something from Sega.
Probably streets of rage 2
Quackshot was a top game though, absolutely loved it.

Shredders revenge also has a good sound track

Baldur’s Gate 3 was pretty awesome, especially Raphael signing along to his own theme song

Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX

Rancid, Swingin' Utters, Deftones, Sublime, Social Distortion, Cypress Hill...

The soundtrack of my youth.

Street fighter 2 for me, so many iconic stage tracks on top of a brilliant main theme. One of those you could hear from across the arcade and immediately know what it was

Special mention to double dragon and outrun. Those classic arcades were so brilliantly atmospheric

Not sure about best ever, but the Ori and the Blind Forest soundtrack was fantastic and fit the game wonderfully.

Great question, beyond some of those mentioned Control had a great soundtrack that actually fit the gameplay.

FF7 Rebirth (its the original on steroids)
FF5
Sea of Stars
Castlevania II
