What’s your single footballing high point since Fergie retired?

Europa under Mourinho. There’s really no other answer.

The feeling was so optimistic then. We were rumoured to be in for Griezmann, had been better in the league than our position showed. It really felt like we were ready to take the next step.

The 30 seconds between Evra's wonder goal against Bayern and them scoring.

Beat me to it.

For maybe 5 of those 90ish seconds I allowed myself to dream.

What is tragic is that that game and Paris were the sole two times that United were really under the spotlight at the highest stage over the last ten years.

Such negativity here, Ole has given several great moments.

Winning 8 games in a row. Beating PSG and City twice, beating Southampton 9-0, scoring 5 and 6 past Leeds. Rashford scoring a hat-trick off the bench to beat Leipzig 5-0 in the past few years alone. You have to be a right miserable bastard to not enjoy these moments at all.
feck me, just shows how utterly disappointing and mediocre his time as manager has been here if this is what we had to celebrate.

The performance at Anfield under LVG was fantastic. Can't remember a more dominant display at their place in recent memory. Should have been 3-1 had Rooney not messed up the penalty or given it to Mata for his hatrick. I remember texting my Liverpool mate at half time and saying his side had hardly had a kick of the ball for most of the half and then of course, the Stevie G moment happened in the second half

Not sure about the order but these are the top 3

Juanfield
EL victory
Paris

That period of good results under van Gaal when we battered Liverpool and spurs whilst playing probably the best football I have ever seen us play.

How could United getting a jammy win convince so many people that a failed Cardiff City manager could get us back to the top when our rivals had Klopp and Guardiola? I knew we were making a big mistake.

I don't think the jammy win in Paris had anything to do with convincing anyone especially not the board about appointing Ole full time.

Everyone knows we got lucky, should of never got through on the balance of play but sometimes these things happen in football and when they go your way especially in a big champions league away game you have to take them and enjoy them otherwise what is the point.

The reason that night has an air of romance about it is because of the injury ravaged squad, given no hope of getting through after losing the first leg, the late penalty to win it, Ole being forced to wear a hi vis for some reason and the fact that the depleted young side never gave up. Its certainly not remembered for being some incredible performance of Ole ball to convince anyone that Ole would be the right man to take us forward.

Rashford's first two games. Everything was so gloomy, and to suddenly have that ray of sunshine appear from nowhere was magical.

There was an element of putting yourself in his shoes too, and imaging how utterly incredible it must feel to go from not expecting to even play to scoring a brace in both of your first two games.

That little run in LVG 1st season was great. We beat Spurs, City and Liverpool. It fell of the hill a bit after that but it really looked like we're going in a right direction but LVG decided to scrap it all the next season and the rest is history.

Good one, I'd almost forgot. I was at a real low point personally then and that was incredibly uplifting.

Europa, ronaldo coming home, sticking 9 past Southampton, Last seasons game against Leeds, ronaldos re-debut, watching rashy and Mason develop, there is a real joy in seeing academy lads make it, and an honorable mention for rashy repeatedly making Bodybag boris look like a massive cnut.

Between Paris and signing Ronaldo, because I went to bed dejected and had pretty much made up my mind that he was going to city.

I hated that night we won in Paris as I knew all the dumb fans would be clamouring for Solskjaer as full time manager. A dark night.

Why not just stick to OPs topic instead of spreading your toxic attitude here as well? We have countless Ole threads for that. Let ONE place be friendly. Please.

When Ole, on the brink of getting the sack, vanquished Spurs by 3 goals to nil and went on to bring us over two decades of incredible success and prosperity.

That night in Paris was probably the highlight for me. With the odds heavily stacked against us, 9 players out injured, Pogba suspended as well as in-form Martial being ruled out, it was more a case of how many PSG could score against us; however, Smalling, Dalot, Lindelof and McFred had a monster performance and managed to keep us in the game even though we were 2 goals down on aggregate... What a night

Easily that win in Paris.

I usually watch games at home, but that night I was at football pub with one of my best friends. The place was packed with United fans and the atmosphere was awesome. If I'm not mistaken, that was a part of an amazing run of games as well (13 wins in 15 or something absurd like that). Ah, and the post match photos/videos were great as well. Fergie + Ole + Cantona. Neymar's shocked face which is a meme to this day. It was just a great night.

Winning the Europa League with that Jose bloke.

Juanfield. Probably the single best performance I think we’ve had since Fergie retired in terms of control of the game and bossing our hated rivals on their own pitch.

We’ve had other great results but many involved the standard countering and efficient finishing on the break. That Liverpool game under LVG we played perfect possession football. Too bad it was a random good patch of form in the otherwise dross he served up.

What a seriously miserable person you must be for that not to be a positive night for you
King of the miserables really. And that is an accomplishment given how much miserable ones are at the cafe.

Not only that, I bet he didnt hate it then but convinced himself he hated it after.

Definitely a brilliant game. We completely dominated them.

I didn't say hiring Ole.

I said sacking Jose.

I thought we would change.

Once we hired Ole, that went out the window.

Ah fair enough, though for me we took way too long to sack Jose.

Should never have survived the Sevilla champions league game

I'd have the FA Cup win over the EL. Far more prestigious competition and Jesse's winner was brilliant.

Pretty much ended that prick pardews managerial career too which was an added bonus

It'll be the day the current manager gets the boot.

You really don't like Ole

Nothing will change much until we change our entire board and person who gives these managers a job and decided to sign some players on their own.

LVG- Juanfield, Rashy's PL debut, Depay vs Midtjylland, Lingard winner vs Palace

Mou - 2-0 vs Chelsea, 2-1 vs Pool, EL win, 3-2 vs City (even though we could have been 5 or 6 down by HT), Rooney breaking Sir Bobby's record

Ole - 3-1 vs PSG, 2-1 vs Spurs, those 35 mins vs City in the 2-1 (which is some of the best football played against a Guardiola side), McT goal vs City, 2-0 vs City last year (which was possibly the best 90 we've played post Fergie when you take into account the opposition and form of the team (if not that then the 2-0 vs Chelsea under Mou)) , 6-2 vs Leeds, 2-1 vs PSG, 5-0 vs Leipzig, 4-0 vs Chelsea

Has anyone mentioned Ole should get the sack here?

Havent seen it in any other thread so just asking.

The home game this season against Newcastle. For the 2nd half of that game I felt like we got our United back. Not been a feeling close to that in 8 years.

Ole getting sacked and a new manager making the most of Donny and Jadon.
