Westminster Politics

Can't fokin breathe, son. Yer mam has fokin done it this time. This is it. Off to see me old man at the pervy gates. Goodbye, son. Don't forget not to vote in the election cos the telly said there's no fokin point blllleeeeeehhhhhhhchhh.

It is been 15 years that I don't leave in UK (Scotland) but I can picture the type

We get really passionate about this sort of thing. I mean, obviously not in 2011 when the same fecking thing was done on another kit, but that was before scientists discovered wokeness and how it's more dangerous than things like smoking, asbestos or poverty.

First time I can remember such cross party consensus on a topic in this country!

To quote the great Woody Woodpecker;

If you want to make enemies, try to change something. If you want to make enemies in England, wait until an Australian billionaire tells them that you're the enemy.

Politician's Handbook from as recent as 7/9/2022. May need an update.

Step One - Underfund education and close down libraries.
Step Two - Raise a generation of 30 something dickheads who can't form a single cohesive sentence without getting a migraine. Integrate them into the communities with the Breakfast At Tiffany's song loving twats from the 90s, and that generation who haven't had to work hard to get ahead in life - we all know the one I mean.
Step Three - Take incredibly complicated socioeconomic issues and water them down into easily digestible soundbites (agenda riding bullshit, preferably) that the people in Step Two have a 50% of understanding without getting a migraine.
Step Four - Have all of your mates in the media repeat these soundbites and turn them into fact, further emboldening Mr and Mrs Audi-On-Lease-New-Build-Forty-Year-Mortgage into believing that the shite they utter, without engaging their brain for even a split second, is definitely the real reason why their lives are fecked. Because it couldn't possibly be for reasons that are complicated and diverse.
Step Five - If the above Steps fail; stir up a media frenzy with some dead cat news or poison the Queen in her sleep.
Give me a breakdown of voting intentions and social priorities for those in their 30’s vs those above 40, I know who I’ll be siding with. I understand the point you think you’re making, but it’s incredibly harsh. Those at 30 who are voting Reform/Tory are almost an irrelevance, a tiny proportion of the electorate.

Was this the Olympic kit?

What is wrong with Breakfast at Tiffany's? Great song, real ear worm.

I imagine we will be hearing this argument a lot if Labour win the next election.

What in the actual world of feck is this? How is this real?

Thats the reality since last decade. Lie lie lie lie lie, let others debunk whatever you lied about and move on to another lie. rinse and repeat. There is no accountability for politicians to lie. So they keep lying and they keep us dumb. So people without critical thinking will lap it up and when confronted, they will say that are the others that lie or they will be already moved on to the other lie in the cycle so will not matter anymore

And with AI will be epic

The world is spiraling in a very dangerous moment in history

This is up there with the time the account rebranding as a fake fact checker during the last election. Truly insane stuff.
Next election I wouldn't be surprised to see the Tory twitter rebranding as the BBC and posting AI photos of all the opposition leaders holding up placards that say "I hate Britain".

Maybe not next election yet as AI is not yet there. But in the next 3-4 years it will be 1984 ministry of truth batshit crazy. And we will all fall for it for a few ours at least if not never being able to 100% telling the truth

Don’t give them ideas!

The problem is finding out 'the truth'
These days everybody (quite often embedded in their own 'silos') seems to have their own version of truth about almost everything, especially if it's capable of being made into/set in a political scenario. Almost anything political which goes into print, or on social media, etc.is up for being labelled 'false news' by someone and now the BBC and other so called 'legit' media outlets are also caught up in this maelstrom.

The 24/7 news cycle and the use of News Editors rather than News Reporters, just feeds the beast.

The truth of public events ends coming out at some point. But often times, its too late and the damage is already done. Like brexit for example or others that sway public opinion. Then ooopsie, that is not what we meant or what it really happen. Is fast consumption and reaction

Social media was inevitable with the internet.

Why you didn't create facebook before facebook then?

Tongue in cheek. I think the only thing that was inevitable with the internet was porn. The rest had been like when the dumb townfolk in the dark ages met to burn witches in the main square because power people told the morons that they were the cause of their disgraces and when that dumb mob pushed through, the relatively normal people went along.

On the XXth century, we got smarter and the dumbfecks got cornered and shamed. In the XXIst century, Internet through social media, joined them again in the main square and with the access of disinformation, they are played again and catching "normal" people with them

So is the combination of different factors, social media, disinformation, big data...now AI

We are going to some dark ages pretty soon

Porn is owed a lot, much of the streaming technolgy has it's roots there and the drive for faster internet speed as well!

I know...Being 15 waiting for a picture to load little by little to see a boob while I was afraid my parents would wake up because they would hear the fan going to loud at half wank. Not talking about the sounds of the modem starting.

Fun years
