I like the couple behind them. They look like the wife has just caught her husband staring at Sneijder's lass's arse and he's got "whats a guy gonna do" written all over his face.

Manchester United plan one last push for Wesley Sneijder - Telegraph

United manager Ferguson, whose team face the MLS All-Stars in New Jersey on Wednesday, has already spent £48.3 million on Phil Jones, Ashley Young and David de Gea this summer.

But attempts to sign a replacement for the retired Paul Scholes have foundered, with Manchester City leading the race for Arsenal’s Samir Nasri and Sneijder’s wages and transfer fee proving prohibitive.

The Dutch midfielder is understood to be keen to move to United, however, and talks between associated parties took place earlier this month. Gill has now admitted United remain determined to make a stellar addition to their squad before Aug 31.

“We’ve got a great squad and to get into that squad you need to be a world-class player,” Gill said.

“There’s no point, if you can’t get the players you want, in buying someone for the sake of buying someone. But we are looking at one more player to bring in.

Nothing’s happening — nothing imminent — on that at the moment, but we’ll see what happens when we get home [from the United States]. There’ll still be 31 days of the transfer window to see if anything develops.”

With Sneijder earning a basic £190,000 a week at Inter, the Italian club’s £35 million valuation is viewed as excessive by United, particularly with the 27 year-old former Ajax and Real Madrid player having little resale value due to his age.

Ferguson has talked of the difficulties in securing a replacement for Scholes, but the Scot is aware that it is an area United must address if they are to close the gap on European champions Barcelona.

Gill insists, though, that United are prepared to be patient as they seek the final addition to their squad.

He said: “The important point to understand, and Alex has made it clear, is that we need someone who’s going to improve the quality of the squad.”

Absolutely, he looks like he's been caught rapid. I dont see what her problem is & he shouldnt have a problem with her oggling young men either - they both wouldnt stand a feckin chance for God sake...

Cue Hef images with hot-babes....

Forgot about this gem of a quote from April:

“Do I want to go to United? It’s a beautiful club,” said Sneijder

It's been a slow day on the Wesley front

Anyone hear what he said today? Apparently something about if he's staying he'll let everyone know. Its on Inter's website.

On arrival at the Sports Center "Angelo Moratti", Wesley Sneijder was approached by journalists who have reported on Sky, with microphones turned off, the words that his teammate Dejan Stankovic had said about him ("I'm sure Wesley will remain Inter and when he will be sure to take the microphone and say, "Ed.)

Wes, smiling, replied: "I heard the words of Stankovic. If I stay I'll take the microphone and I'll tell you."'

It's insane how this man has gone from a reject, sold for a cheap €10m on chance just for the sake of buying someone. As a matter of fact, both him and Van der Vaart has risen from the dead in an amazing way. Only goes to show how few chances you get at madrid.

He was really good at Madrid too but they were idiots and they sold him. Now he is at the peak of his career.

Doesn't matter what he says, it's whether Inter are prepared to sell and what price they're asking for him.

Unless they're crazy they'll try asking United for a silly amount because they know we desperately need a midfielder. Eventually they'll realise that we won't pay a silly amount and so they'll have to sell him in order to buy the players they need. If they don't they'll lose out on him because he's 27 now and his value will drop as time goes on and they'll miss out on the players they want to buy.

Basic economics but they'll hold out for the maximum they can rip us off for.

Inter want Tevez and a couple of CM's and the only way they can afford that is if they sell Sneijder.

And I doubt the deal will drag on too long because I'm sure Inter will want to sign their replacements as soon as possible.

I wish I could see through this logic.

After openly flirting with Sneijder earlier this Summer Manchester United have recently distanced themselves from a move for the Dutchman.
This change in approach has not been designed to strengthen the club's negotiating position as widely reported but is instead a deliberate attempt to minimise the fall out should Sneijder choose a move to the Etihad Stadium rather than Old Trafford- a move which would signal a massive coup for the Blue half of Manchester.

Whilst Sneijder would still prefer a move to United he has not completely ruled out a move to City and both clubs are considering a transfer which could see Tevez move in the opposite direction.

As well as cooling links between United and Sneijder Sir Alex Ferguson has recently tried to weaken City's hand and instill doubts in Inter's hierarchy by questioning the value of Tevez given that he has openly stated he wants to return to Argentina to be near to his family in the very near future.

So the default position is "he's not staying" - only if that changes will he take the microphone and tell us.

Rejoice.

Where's Hectic?

Someone refresh my memory, what became of UEFA's inquiry into City's 300M/400M sponsorship deal?

England vs Holland on August 10.

Rio, Young and Rooney need to do their best to convince him :D

I hope Sneijder stays at Inter and you'll feck off and die, wr8.
