Just watched the RVP presser on YouTube and Fergie said we're done in terms of transfers this summer. He also mentioned no concrete offers for Berba which is a shame and hopefully will change.

Overall, though we didn't get the elusive CM talent we're crying out for there really doesn't feel like there were many plausible options out there. Same with LB.

Two fantastic additions and a promising youngster. Should be a fantastic season and I reckon the PL will be ours. Though Europe, we really need a world class CM for IMO.

Happy muppets? I am!

He told MUTV earlier that there may be one more signing.

He's a crafty old sod.

To be fair in a previous interview he hinted of a position that may be strengthened if the right player is available.

I still think we need a CM and left back cover. However he did some shrewd top quality signings this season.

He always say things that we and also certain people need to know (or believe to get something he wants)

Don't trust Fergie when it comes to informing about transfers.

I am worried about the left-back position. I am not one of those who says Evra is past it, but he is playing too much. If we were able to rotate more in that position I'm sure we would have seen a better Evra these last couple of seasons. But with him being the only left-back in the squad, he again will play most of our games.

Fergie's not worried, hence the Fabio loan.

I am happy too, for me we have brought in some real top quality in RVP and Kagawa. We may not have the CM or LB many posters wanted, but there can be no denying that we have added some fantastic talent to our squad.

I think these additions will give us far more variety in the systems we can adopt, and that can only be a positive. RVP is unbelievably talented, and could prove to be the special gamechanger i believe Fergie was looking for when we signed Berba.

I have a really good feeling about this season now, and if our midfielders can steer clear of serious injury this could be the best season for a few years. We no longer look dependent on a couple of players performing, and tbh it is difficult to pick a predictable starting XI or system for any given game with the wealth of options we now have at our disposal.

Roll on monday night, we owe Everton one from last season, and i think the lads will be eager to make a positive statement of intent in that game!

That one transfer may be henriquez but I doubt a cm

I dont think so. He mentioned one position he may strenghten if the right player is available. We are well equipped upfront + henriquez is available

He didn't seem serious when he was talking that we're done - he smiled when he was asked that question.

javi martinez is 'available'. lets steal him from bayern like psg came in last minute for lucas.

If you watched the interview you would have seen him give a "or am I?" smile a second after saying we're done.

When did he say that? It means that he has only player on his mind. I wonder who might that be?

I can't find the video, but here's the relevant part from the transcript of said interview:

Q. Are you happy with your squad now, do you think there will be any more business to be done now is it pretty much it?

"No, I think it's maybe one other position, but we've spent a big bit of money and if I need to go to the Glazer family then I am sure they would say yes but it's only if a certain player was, became available then we would take it."

Sounds like he is talking about someone fairly specific to me. I'm curious as to who it might be and for what position.

It must be someone who he thinks has at least a reasonable chance of becoming available, or it surely wouldn't be worth mentioning at all?

he looks to be talking about someone in specific and perhaps he also seems to be ready to wait for him.

From 19:10. Let's see what happens but I think there's a chance we might still sign a player.

Come on fergie, you still owe us a transfer to the value of Lucas Moura, tight bastard.

Im struggling to think who it could be tbh, i would have said Modric but he is Madrid bound, can't really think of anyone else who SAF admires and believes could possibly become available, who isn't already! Within a reasonable price range of course!

Any speculations anyone? :)

Dembele or Baines.

Can't see Dembele tbh. I would have thought he would already be available tbh. Baines is a better shout to my mind. Everton usually have to sell one of their better players a season, and having just sold rodwell, i wouldn't have thought they would be too eager to lose Baines as well.

Saying that i wouldn't have thought Arse would have sold Song straight after selling RVP, but they did, so who knows?

If we are looking at Everton then Fellaini would be who i would want most from their team. Beast of a player, versatile, determined and still quite young. But i would back your suggestion, and say the smart money would be on Baines.

Sounds to me as if the club of the player in question must first replace that player. If you know what I mean.

As soon as I hear a club being linked with a centre midfielder or a left back now, I'm going to instantly assume that the player will join to replace "player x" that may join us  These comments have made me paranoid now.

If Fulham are linked with a centre midfielder, I'll be knocking on the door of Dembele's thread.
