Well done Liverpool

I think both Veron and Berbatov did pretty well but just didn't fit in.

Absolutely spot on. Could you say Veron wasn't our 2nd best cm? or that Berbatov wasn't 2nd best striker at the club? only if you were biased/lunatic I guess. Just didn't fit in, or rather we couldn't afford the luxury of playing merely flair players in their respective positions. Why? because we've already had, in both cases, number ones who were even better players needing someone making up for their 'weaknesses'.

So who do they have in the squad capable of playing up front beyond Borini and Suarez?

Gerrard and Joe Cole?

With Allen and Sahin in midfield this might be the solution to where to play Gerrard.

Cole played in attack quite successfully in France, did he not?

Carrol had a great game today I thought. Which makes things even better. Must be something in the water at the training ground. Shite perhaps.

I think 'great' is pushing it a bit. He won a few headers, & generally caused Fulham problems at long balls & set-pieces (that's what he does). MOTD made him sound like Messi last night.

I'm disappointed we never got a replacement for the big fellah. But I'm not too unhappy at the fact he's gone, for the simple reason we probably would have been tempted to have gone for route one whenever he was on the pitch for us.

How about the simple reason that he was a massive fecking flop, doomed from the beginning?

Yeah, what the feck is all that about? It was like he scored the perfect hat trick the way they were banging on.

Robbie Folwer on Talksport now saying 'pool could finish 4th. Do they ever fecking learn?

I dont think most scousers realise that to finish 4th only 3 teams should be better than you :p

Mick Quinn was saying the same. Scouse delusion gene

Quinn is a disgrace. Listening to him talking about about Liverpool is embarassing at times. The odd bit of bias it ok, but he's like some drunk dragged in from some scouse pub.

Liverpools problem is exactly like last year.

They have a decent defence with a wobbly goalie, a much better midfiedl this time it has to be said, but their problem last year was not scoring enough, and its no different.

The reason they lost to so many lower end of the table sides wasnt because they were awful, but because more often than not those sides scored one of their handful of chances, and Liverpool missed a bucketload.

West Brom this season was exactly the same, Liverpool could have been four up before west brom got a goal if they had a decent finisher.

The only light at the end of the tunnel maybe here is Sahin and Joe allen may chip in with a few , but other than that, I cant see them doing much better this season unless someone goes on some miraculous scoring run.

Yep, it'l be much of the same story. I dont see Allen scoring much either, he plays far too deep for that. If Suarez gets injured, they'd be royally fecked.

His predictions just now: Liverpool to beat Arsenal 2-0, Southampton to hold us to a draw. On its own this isn't a completely unreasonable prediction, but I remember this so-called punditry 'expert' predictor admitting that he generally always predicts a win for Liverpool and loss / draws for us
