Only two teams not named Benfica, Porto or Sporting have won the portuguese league since its start in 1934. They both only won it once and did it by only one point.

Nope. Porto in 9th place was the closest it's ever been to happening. Benfica's worst placed team came 6th and Sporting's 7th.
