Weird things about football that are true but don't sound it

That is mental.
That's crazy.
Not as crazy when you look at the winners each season

2011-12: RvP (Arsenal), Rooney (Man Utd)
2012-13: RvP (Man Utd), Suarez (Liverpool)
2013-14: Sturridge (Liverpool), Suarez (Liverpool)
2014-15: Costa (Chelsea), Kane (Spurs)
2015-16: Kane (Spurs), Vardy (Leicester)

and that voting is done a few months before season ends. Goalscoring stats:

In 2011-12, RVP and Rooney were the top scorers. 1. RVP (30), 2. Rooney (27), 3. Aguero (23)
In 2012-13, RVP and Suarez were the top scorers (Aguero didn't even make the top 10). 1. RVP (26), 2. Suarez (23)
In 2013-14, Suarez and Sturridge were the top scorers. 1. Suarez (31), 2. Sturridge (21), 4. Aguero (17)
In 2014-15 he was the top scorer. 1. Aguero (26), 2. Kane (21), 3. Costa (20)... however Aguero scored 9 goals in April and May in the space of 7 games which would have been after voting closed, hence why Kane and Costa were chosen.
In 2015-16 he was in the top scorers along with Kane and Vardy but understandable why the other two made it. 1. Kane (25), 2. Aguero (24), 3. Vardy (24)

If not for Aguero's injuries he likely would have made it one season.

During the title race a few years ago, the captain of one of the teams in it was caught on tape shouting to his teammates "this will not fecking slip".

In the following game, he physically slips at a critical moment allowing the opposition to score a goal effectively ending their chance to win the Premier League.

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have scored a combined 808 goals for their clubs since Ronaldo's move to Madrid, both averaging more than a goal a game over this 8-year-period.

Still unbelievable. Unbelievably funny.

Sergio Ramos has more goals in his career than Iniesta.

Damn, that's impressive. Testament to how much of a goal threat he is that this stat doesn't even seem too improbable.

Alan Shearer has scored the most penalties in the Premier League.

Alan Shearer has missed the most penalties in the Premier League.

I don't have a hard time believing this considering he's the all time top goal scorer but the second fact is a bit surprising.

United were 3 point away from winning 7 consecutive Premier League titles.

Feenando Torres is 33, same school year and birth year as me. It feels like I have known about him since I was 12 or 13 meaning he should be much older than me.

Falcao, Victor Valdes, Schweinsteiger, Di Maria and Pique all played for us at one point.

Norway never lost to Brazil.
Norway was once second in the FIFA rankings.

Rooney was once an amazing football player.
The Rooney point isn't weird as we know he was.
The points about Norway are headscrathers though.

Here is the King:

It's weird when you see him now, just a shadow of the player he used to be.
The facts about Norway, i don't think many are aware of.
Probably the only things in football we can be proud of, except Solskjær

Technically, ronaldo was part of milan in 2007, though cup-tied to madrid

Gerard Pique has played with all of Messi, Neymar, Suarez, C Ronaldo, Rooney, Ibra, Torres, David Villa, Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets, Xabi Alonso, Scholes, Giggs, Puyol, Vidic, Ferdinand, Dani Alves and Gary Neville

And Darron Gibson, don't forget!

Cristiano Ronaldo could go 414 games without scoring and still have a better goal scoring record for Real than club legend Raul.

Frank Lampard scored 20 or more goals in all competitions in 5 consecutive seasons.
