Website Crashes

Trying to open a page and getting a white screen is not as big a problem as completely not even being able to view the website due to spike in traffic. All you have to do is refresh the page and you can see it. But I appreciate the mods trying to solve even minor problems.
 
Just as an update, I have been at a client this week using the same laptop I use at work and the client's wireless connection. Apart from it being quicker than the office internet I have had no problems posting on here, still using IE8

I presume it must be a local firewall issue, although I don't think it would go down too well if I was to ask them to sort out the firewall at work so that I can post on here when I should be working!

I've also had problems posting to another forum that I also use, but again only on IE8 and where ever I post from (home or office). When I switched to Chrome at home I experienced no further problems.

Is Chrome too lax in its security or is it IE8 that is too strict then?
 
Brilliant job by the mods. I wanted to thank you guys again. Today we have had more than 5000 people at the same time and there was no problem for me posting. Good job!
 
I had blank pages the last few days whenever I tried to submit a post, search or preview post using firefox. Been searching all over the web till now and turns out all I had to do was to delete the 7 or 8 site cookies from Firefox > Options > Privacy.
 
When im viewing a thread it shows me as logged off so i can't edit my posts because i cant see it but if i click the forum link then it shows me as logged in.
