Sad to see him go, but it's the best move for all concerned. A great player in his prime. Best of luck to him for the rest of his career
It's a permanent move, he has signed a 2 year contract with them. The wage payment I don't know. I accept they've had him without a fee and will cover his reduced wage.
Really hope he does well back home. Show those bloody pundits, the suns and daily mails you still have it, Wayne. All the best, sad day for a United fan to see the legend gone, but it could've finished in a much more bitter way.
At his best he was a brilliant player. He was also one of the most exciting signings since I started following the club. Won loads, scored loads. Hope this move works out for him.
I'm shocked that anyone thinks he can 'regain' form and start banging them in for everton. Wtf have you been watching for the last 3 years . He's completely done at this level and thankfully Everton are stupid enough to not realise it.

Thank you Wayne Rooney - you have given me such joy and pride over the years that you've worn our club's shirt and you thoroughly deserve to be called 'Legend'. You're not perfect, you've made a few errors of judgement over the years it's fair to say (I suspect you've had some poor advice at times). But you have taken my breath away with your tenacity, your technique, your sheer brilliance. I was thrilled when we signed you, and it has been a privilege to watch you give your best years to this football club. Let nothing diminish your legacy pal - you delivered. Well done.

No lol but I genuinely would like to see him do well. Anytime I have watched Alli I have been disappointed although his stats are amazing for a midfielder they are probably skewed somewhat by him playing as a forward. A young Rooney was electric to watch in comparison to Alli.
I'm actually a little sad. This marks the end of the amazing 2007-12 era for me.

Sad to see him go but it's the right thing to do. Don't care what anyone says, of course he's a legend for the club. He's our all time record goal scorer, made over 500 appearances and won copious trophies. How can he not be considered a legend.
Amazing player back in the day. Terrible for years now and am relieved he's no longer our problem. Mourinho forced him out the club masterfully.
It doesn't shock me, there were still plenty of people on here that even a year ago didn't think there was any decline and that he was still deserving of his place in the Utd team. Every pre season we'd get the usual posters thinking that this would be the season we'd see the Old Rooney again and it never even came close to happening.
Good. It will be easier to give him deserved credit after he departed from the club and the image of out of form ageing Rooney isn't displacing his younger self in my mind. Hope he does alright there, apart from the games against United, of course.

I'd be quite excited as an Everton fan. And judging by their message board they are.
It gets their name up in lights, huge revinue influx, fans around the globe watching them to see Rooney. Plus, he may be past his best but he's still the best English player of his generation and was explosively good for them at a young age.

Apparently the sticking point was whether he could play against us next season.
Wayne wanted it written that he wouldn't play against us, but United demanded that he would.
Had his down years , but the whole team did , he was always more of a team player , not a superstar , but it is an emotional moment for me and the club as the top goalscorer of all time has been transfered and did not have the time to say a proper 'Goodbye'.

A club legend for sure but he's been absolutely dreadful the last 3 seasons. I feel bad for saying this but I'm really happy that he's gone. Such a weird situation to be honest! Last season especially I used to dread to see his name on the teamsheet. Be interesting to see what position he plays at Everton.

99% sure it's a free transfer. Only thing I'm wondering about is whether we are covering some of his wages still.
Does he keep his salery? And will he be their captain?
Would be good if he did in a similar way to RVP. A consolation in a drubbing.
