Are you still going on about the transfer request? Fecking hell. Get over it! He stayed, and is still here. Bet if you had the chance to get rid of him now you wouldn't think twice, though. Hypocrite!

What right do you have to call another poster a hypocrite? Because he stated the obvious facts? Who was again that was tearing onto Zlatan when he has outdone Rooney this season in every department! You definitely have a Coleen Xmas Party ticket. Confirmed!

Oh dear, Rooney did that out of the generosity of his heart, did he? Good thing we signed him at a bargain price and under paid him for his time here. People keep on acting like Rooney made us. We made Rooney, not the other way round. Fergie would have been as successful with or without Rooney and if you don't believe that then too bad. It has always been strictly business between United and Rooney, nothing more.

Nobody can deny his achievements and I appreciate him fir that. But I have no respect for the guy at all.

You don't know him. All you can do is judge him as a player, and as a player, he's been very successful for us. End of!

Yes, he can feck off for all the reason's I've given.

Because we missed the title by a point and could easily have got to the UCL final again but for a harsh redcard on Rafael we also have a squad full of young talent and he's been a part of unprecedented success with us and he's prepared to stick two fingers up to all that this club has given him without even trying to help fight for this cause.

If you can sympathise with that you are a fecking shit United supporter and can just feck right off. You don't have any respect for how lucky you are to "support" this club.

You think this club owes something to Rooney? He fecking owes us.

That's what I said at the time and it's still the case. The guy is an absolute cnut, a filthy chav and I can't wait to see the back of him.

I criticise Rooney when he plays bad, and criticise others when they play bad. Simple!

Stuff like this makes you sound like such a mug.

I mean almost all your posts in this thread do, but stuff like this is so unnecessary.

Do you need to know Trump or Clinton or Farage or Kanye West personally to decide whether you have respect for them, since they are all just doing their job? You think SBC gets this respect from United fans because we watched him play? We love appreciate Evra because we have him on speed dial? Respect is earned and he hasn't earnt it. Acknowledgement for his records? Good on him but better for the club. Rooney will remain just an employee and nothing more

:lol::lol:

Good luck with that. The filthy chav is our second highest all-time goalscorer. Be very hard to see the back of him. Who knows, we could even see a statue outside the ground if he beats the record. ;)

If Trump does well for America, you'll soon see how many American's get to like him.

Kanye West is a good rapper. That's all I care about - that's what he does.

Similarly, Rooney is a football player. That's what I judge him as.

My question is, do you like Ronaldo?

EDIT:

Wonder if we should ask some Liverpool fans if they like Suarez?

Because I don't condone his granny shagging, his sleeping with prostitutes while his wife is pregnant, getting pissed up during key fixture periods and stealing from sponsors?

Haha who the feck are you to compare Wayne Rooney to to Donald trump.

Rooney has given his whole career to our club winning many, many trophies despite the fact he isn't from Manchester and in fact never supported united as a kid.

His best days behind him, granted, but anyone who could argue that we would have been better off not signing him than not is deluded and absolutely bitter.

No doubt he has a special place in his heart for this club for his career at his peak. The disrespect for him at the minute is completely rediculous.

I prefer to reflect on his achievements to this club and have accepted his new role as mainly a sub / starter if needs be. I know his wage demands doesn't reflect this but it's not exactly his fault. And for the service he has done, being integral to our success over the last 10/15 years he deserves a damn sight more than half the squad we currently have when you have players like Rojo or Ashley young on 100k contracts....

(I'm not saying he deserves 300k or even 100k, just more respect than he gets from people on this forum)

I dunno man, you and others seem maniacal about the whole thing. United players and footballers the world over are involved in shady stuff, hardly a new story or unique to Rooney.

Even in the most recent of years we've had rapists, thieves, tax avoiders, drunks, prossie users, cheaters and more, if you believe all the stories.

Yet Rooney is worse than De Gea, Martial, Evans, Giggs or anyone! It's not really rational, so I don't buy it as the reason. Managers continually trust him and players past and present seem to get on with him extremely well and yet this becomes a big conspiracy.

It's all you guys ever post about and you leap on anyone who actually decides to support one of our players, even whilst acknowledging he's on the wain/shouldn't start.

It's so personal to you, I really don't understand why.

As a player, what is there not to like? Beyond what he does over the white line on the pitch, I like that he epitomises how hard work and desire, given the right opportunity will yield results. As a PT and a youth worker I have met people who are inspired by Ronaldo's rags to riches story and work ethic. I know a student that studies fashion designing and is into kickboxing and Ronaldo is his inspiration to overcome all the challenges he has faced. The kid has learnt that sacrifice pays off and he is an Arsenal fan btw. I like Ronaldo because despite being a hispanic player, with no reasons to have a loyalties to an English club, he has always embraced this club and it showed by the fans appreciation even after he scored against us. I don't even need to mention that like many footballers, he is charitable.

So, yes I like Ronaldo and he earns my respect!

I don't know, the closest Liverpool fan I have as a friend appreciates that he is a top player but hated that the same player often misbehaved on the pitch. Other than that I don't know what Pool fans think.

Rooney helped with the goal, too. Three defenders followed him and his movement left Mata open to score.

His confidence is not as good as it used to be, but I am sure he will regain it, and by April he will be one of our best players this year.

Are you fecking kidding me? He did the minimum of what a striker should do, that is to make runs in the penalty box when a team mate is in the byline and you're praising him for that?

Next thing would be giving MoM awards to Rooney for not turning up to work drunk.

What's wrong with what Nick said?

He made a good run which helped with space for the goal.

He didn't say anything about his having a good cameo or playing out of his skin when he came on. He just said he helped with the goal.

You mean the Wayne who was quite generously going to give some of his career to Manchester City and Chelsea if he could.

How does that change what he has done for our football club?

I'm also fairly certain 'this betrayal' thing has been ballooned up into some sort of nonesense story.

Plenty of players who get more respect than Wayne have flirted with other clubs or have even left for other clubs.

And it normally doesn't end well for the players reputation with fans who leaves or even plays for their rivals. Campbell to Arsenal, Figo to Madrid, Owen/RvP to us amongst others, all of whom are pretty much detested by fans of their original club.

But Rooney didn't.

So it's actually much more like Gerard, Lampard etc, their fans don't seem to cling to it like butt hurt kids though.

He didn't because he saw $$$ offered to him. Twice he threatened like he had football ambitions, twice he was instantly shut up because of money. If City or Chelsea had offered £100 more he would have jumped ship. Which other player left United to earn ridiculous amount of money, apart from Ronaldo?

I think Mourinho already deciding to extend Zlatan's stay, to me adds more credence to the belief he will be told to find a new club at the end of the season. I am confident we will add more layers in attack especially another galatico.
The only way I see him staying is if, Mourinho changes his mind and decides to play him at DM.

He didn't because he didn't.

The reasons and conversations aren't known so stating it as fact is just ignorant agenda driving.

If he wanted more money then so feck, I'm class at my job and sometimes I want more money, it's important to feel valued, people shouldn't have to apologise for that.

You go on as though Rooney owes you, I or the club anything. He doesn't... he has in fact given us all pretty much everything he has and trophies to boot.

Doesn't matter though because he's not the player he was and some people just hate him for reasons totally detached from reality.

Hard to imagine us not going for an out and out quality striker this summer.

You would hope.

People's attitute on this forum towards Rooney is cringeworthy. I bet other fans read this thread thinking what idiots our fans are.

I agree with your general point, but this is a 2 way street then surely? if its business its both ways, no need for public cries of not being given a fair chance to prolong his career wherever he pleases on the pitch. You were great, thankyou, goodnight

First time he wanted to leave he questioned the club ambitions because we weren't signing top players, and once we offered him new big money contract he signed it even though United continued to sign average players, what's exactly there to know?

Accusing people of being agenda driven while in the same post you ignore well known facts, great stuff.

Opposition fans can't understand how Rooney is still at this club.

They laugh at us for paying 250k a week for an average player.

That's why they want us to keep him for as long as possible.

So you think alongside the new contract there wasn't conversations about where United wanted to be, who they wanted to sign etc that could have waylaid Rooney's concerns about the rest of his career?

Or is it possible that rooney just had a change of heart with after speaking with the club as opposed to his agent, not the first nor last player to do that (DDG is most fans favourite player yet wants away to Madrid given we don't look like winning much, but that's okay, he's not Rooney.)

All of it is impossible to know, yet Amar does. Who we signed after the fact has very little relevance either as it wouldn't have been known at the time, having not... you know... happened.

Taking your own inference and reading of the situation as fact and throwing it around as if totally black and white tells us all we need to know about your level of objectivity in the matter.

It is incredibly naive to think that the same player that questioned the players and club's ambition kept his fat gob quiet as soon as he was offered a fat paycheck. If he wants the status, then he should be ready for the stick that comes with it. It's fans like you that keep living in the past, maybe it's history that will get us out of this mess.

That's why they want us to keep him for as long as possible.
And some of our fans don't know what progression means. They are happy to keep themselves occupied with YouTube videos of yesteryears rather than face the fact! I wonder what they will support when the guy finally retires

Yeah totally, but the nature of the thing is that I think we as fans invest more in the emotion and the following aspect. That's what it's really all about at the end of the day. Why do we all bother watching 11 strangers kick a ball about in a red shirt.

And get so mentally involved that I'll go on the Internet and fight with some guy called Amar who I have never met but think is a complete bellend because he doesn't like Rooney, he's probably a lovely fellow, but that doesn't stop him being my arch nemisis.

Point being for a footballer it's a career, and in your career you want to achieve, to feel valued, monetarily and otherwise, to gain recognition and be happy! You hope for players like Evra, Rafael, Scholes etc that really identify and seem as much fans as they are players but they aren't all like that.

Besides that I do think Rooney loves the club and is very good to the fans, I think a couple of contract disputes in this day and age are part and parcel and don't tarnish years of (mostly) excellent service.

Listen to the tone of this post.

Bilious.

I've said many a time I don't think he should start so I don't see how I'm living in the past. Utter nonsense. Hardly surprising from you.

I'm starting to think Dichinero's a Rooney 'fanboy' in disguise. I mean, they guy can't stop talking about him.

This is his quote in the 'Zlatan - Contract to be extended' thread.

there's been very little world class about him this season, and he'll be 36 years old next season, and he's on enormous wages.

it's not your typical 'world class striker extends contract' situation in any way.

Still fitter and better than the 31 year old captain we are habouring who is on a longer contract and much bigger wages

See. He's been playing along all this time. We've got you Dichinero. You can give up the act now lad.
