WARNING - CONTAINS SPOILERS - 24 Season 7 discussion thread *** CONTAINS SPOILERS ***

I havent seen the latest episode yet but I have a question.

Have they explained Starkwoods motivation behind all this? I mean what exactly do they stand to gain?

Have I missed something? Or is that still to be revealed?

(Also, the way the the Starkwood guy at the end looked at Tony was a wee bit suspicious for me - they seemed to recognize each other)

They knew who he was, when they caught him in the Shipyard one guy went "You were on Emerson's crew".

Tony probably mixed with these guys in the 3 years on that crew.

I think it's because the government stopped employing their mercenaries and tried to shut them down. I'm guessing they will set off the bomb and say "With Starkwood this would never have happened".

That's my guess anyway.

Anyone think Jack is faking his illness just so that once this is all over he can pretend he is dead once more?

Well setting off a bomb won't do much for their credibility now would it.

I just don't get their end game. Hopefully theres alot more to it than we've got to see.

Also did anyone recognise the woman from the HAZMAT team?

She was in Season 3.

Yup, good for continuity.

Barring General Juma and the investigator in Alan Millikens death being the same person.

Or Agent Hovis being Frank Simes in Season 1

Good episode, but the cringeworthy moments in 24 are truly cringeworthy.

The secretary's play with Tony was pretty obvious though given that they had to have a twist otherwise the day would've to end right there.

Anyone else think they're setting up Jack's illness to end 24 at season 8 with his death?

No because the head of CDC said anyone infected would be dead within a day or 2. The next Season would have to take place exactly the day after this one.

I thought that but like Solius said the Head of the CDC said anyone who got infected would die within a day or two.

So unless they are planning on having two days in succession for the first time, I can't see it myself!

And what cringeworthy moments are you referring to?

Yeah, I know.

Maybe they find something that'll delay it. Or this story line continues into 2 days and day 8, unlikely though.

Is there even definitely going to be a season 8? They could kill Jack Bauer in this series. :nervous:

I just think theres a mistake on the testing. The woman in the Hazmat suit said the blood test was preliminary. He hasn't got the full results yet.

Yeah that play was definitely obvious (but still somewhat brilliant in my opinion). They have definitely gone through the bad guys pretty quickly this season (Tony, Emerson, Dubaku, Juma) and have already nullified quite a few threats too (remember this season started with the CIP device and now we're talking about bioweapons).

I would be shocked if they didn't kill off Jack at the end of season 8. It would be the perfect way to go out.

If Jack wasn't 'sick' he would have gone with Larry and would now be stuck.

However he is now in a position to save them, what's the odds on him suddenly getting the all-clear and saving the day again?

There'll definitely be a Season 8, the rights to it have been bought by FOX so there is at least 1 more season yet:D

Was reading an interview with Sutherland the other day though and he said as long as the fans are enjoying it and the writers can come up with quality story-lines, he will continue to do 24.

Would be great if they could reach 10 seasons.

That play with Tony and that Starkwood guy was weak. I can't believe anyone who has watched 24 for last 6 seasons, did not see it coming. Waste of an episode for me.

Crappy you seem to know all the twists!

What I thought was going to happen was that Hodges would have figured out Seaton would betray him, so he moved everything to a different bunker than what Seaton thought it was in.

I knew the bio-weapon wasn't going to be there though. Starkwood's Military trapping in the FBI was quality though:cool:

Nah, I think my Tony villain prediction is gonna be proven wrong. Same with president's daughter. She will turn out to be manipulative at best.

But the Tony stuff was obvious from the start, especially considering the interaction between Hodges and his hench man before he began the interrogation. Was clear at that time that he had some plan in mind. The immunity part threw me off for a bit.

I am having hard time digesting Starkwood army as any kind of opponent to US army. Lets see how that plays out.

Hopefully next episode will pick up the pace. Especially with Kim coming back!

hmmm, running out of story this season?

ps. did we find out who the mole was at the White House?

really?!

I bet it's(the biological weapon) a solution that has to be mixed with another to get the desired results. Kind of like epoxy glue or the explosive stuff in that die hard movie...remember? There will be another set of biological material in another warehouse somewhere in Starkwood that has to be mixed with the stuff Jack was infected with and all will be well with Jack B .

Unlikely, since they're going to make a movie after season 8...

FFS, she's great eye candy but an annoying character. I guess the only way they could bring her back was for something serious to happen to Jack.

He'll probably ask to see her because he thinks he's dying.

Or actually, knowing Jack he probably won't want to tell her.

President's daughter is just a power-hungry bitch, not evil. Aaron Pierce likes her, and anyone on his side can't be all bad.

I think the guy at the end was the guy Seton shot just before he was going to shoot Tony.

Starkwood army has the advantage at the moment because there's only about two dozen FBI agents there. Remember, the Joint Chiefs didn't want to use military forces on US soil for law enforcement purposes.

Ugh, not Kim.

My god, this Season just keeps getting better and better, how the feck can a TV show be so as insanely brilliant as 24?

feck knows how they're going to stop Starkwood, or save Jack.

It's going to be an immense 7 episodes.

CANNOT WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!

Jonas Hodges is amazing too, meeting with the President next episode?

The way he killed the Chairman of the Board (Noels I think) was brilliant aswell.

Good ep.

Renee will probably call Kim herself who will donate stem cells to save Jack.

Tony will probably help take down Starkwood since he is kinda undercover in their compound.

Tony against a highly, highly, highly protected compound? Can't see him doing it all alone.

Agree about Renee with Kim.

That's why I said help take down Starkwood. Giving them inside info etc...

Thing is, the FBI/Government would have to send people in to actually stop the threat, gain control of the missiles etc.

Starkwood can track everything though, so they're fecked. Tony can only do so much.

If I was a terrorist that hated America I wouldn't feck about with shitty demands.

Launch the weapons and be done with it, I say.

Bit like killing Bond aint it, dont feck about with laser beams up his jaffas, shoot him in the head.
