Vinicius Junior

Google translate:

Powerful statement from him. Really good to see a player coming out and saying this himself rather than going through an agent or some other intermediary, so there can be no misconceptions in what he has said.

Unlikely unfortunately:

Incredible that he's managed to turn this around and make it out that Vinicius is causing a problem here. That is the worst way he could have handled this. Saying nothing would have been better.

Tebas' links with the far right are well known, him not taking this issue seriously surprises no one.

Perhaps I’m the odd one here but it feels so weird that some people’s first reaction to a player getting racially abused is ”Surely he wants to leave Spain! Sign him!”.

Didn't realise it was being discussed here but the la Liga president is a clown and glad to see his tweet being ridiculed so much

Given its not the first time its happened (which is a disgrace to begin with) maybe a better way of looking at it would be wondering how long Vinicius Jr. himself will actually be willing to put up with this shit on whats now a sadly regular basis.

And thats some wonderfully tone deaf statement from Tebas.

Indeed but Brazil isn't a utopia itself in terms of race relations, i think the weather prestige and history trumps any racism they may face for many of them.
I don’t think these players go to their dream clubs thinking they’ll be racially abused and making peace with it because the weather is nice, somehow.

Yeah I get that but it also sounds so selfish, tone deaf and void of empathy to shift the conversation from the horrible abuse he’s faced again to: ”Oh maybe he fancies us”.

I’m sure there are transfer threads for that if that’s all people care about.

It’s just weird to me, but to each their own.

Yeah, have to agree there.

It's hard (for me at least) not being cynical but also need to have integrity as human on this.

How can they not, its been happening for over 20 years now. Nearly every Brazilian that has gone to Madrid has been racially abused, Marcelo, Carlos R9 etc.

I’ve always thought this guy was a prick. He’s the one who started crying and moaning when Barcelona lost Neymar.

His so blinded by protecting La Liga that he loses all self awareness and just does more damage.

No your just making this up it not weird. The first reaction by everyone is being disgusted , Second reaction is why should he be constantly abused and give the lad an out to somewhere where he isn't going to get it. Third reaction is that its not a Man Utd fans problem to sort it, as it would not be a Real Madrid fans issue if it was happening here. Finally "in the midst of chaos, there is also opportunity"

No, it's weird and this is all bullshit.

The fact that you say it's not a United fans issue to sort is also precisely a part of the issue. The issue goes far beyond football and your tribal teams. Terrible point to make.

Wouldn't get too high and mighty about our fans attitudes to racism. We do a much better job of keeping it out of the grounds than they do in La Liga but our fans online ain't so great.

Horrible situation for the guy, large groups of supporters racially abusing him and absolutely nothing he can do about it. Where else in society is that acceptable?

Problem is a lot of the higher ups in La Liga are part of this "older generation" who think he should shut up and get on with it. That's life. I'd go as far as saying people high up at Real Madrid too but obviously they will publicly side with their guy.

On a side note about him coming to United, where would he play? He's an attacking LW, where Rashford plays and Rashford isn't very good upfront or on the right so has to stay there + neither one should be a bench warmer. Can't see it happening even if he wanted to come.

“Once again, instead of criticizing racists, the president of LaLiga appears on social media to attack me. As much as you talk and pretend not to read, the image of your championship is shaken. See the responses to your posts and have a surprise... Omitting yourself only makes you equal to racists. I'm not your friend to talk about racism. I want actions and punishments. Hashtag doesn't move me”

Quality control
He can go anywhere but not to United please.

and he Will have similar polemics in the UK, give it time. He has a provocative style, but instead Of showing himself on the pitch, he tends to victimize himself.
Its not a coincidence that it always happens to Vinicius.

this being said, Of course spanish football Should act With the heaviest resolutions Against the racists, which are many there.

I think most people and especially football fans just don’t see the implications of their words. If you want this changed you’re going to have to start in elementary school. Are some of them truly racist? Very likely but I think the majority is just acting on impulse and adrenaline, it is mob behavior.

To be fair though, where else in society are tens of thousands of people standing on the other side of an individual?

Wherever any form of abuse is in play there's always going to be someone going down that route. And I get their approach, if you've got something up your sleeve that really hurts you'd be foolish not to throw it out there.

The only way to really attempt getting rid is by changing supporter culture at its core to have zero tolerance for any form of abuse.
