If this is the best we can do then our finances/ scouting Team are in dire state
It's a stop-gap half-season hiring to bring more rotation options to the squad. He'll be gone in the end of the season. Don't worry, you haven't been in a coma for the last 6 years.

Who is the better player we can loan with the quoted finances then? It's said multiple times that we can't/won't invest big this window due potential sale of the club.If this is the best we can do then our finances/ scouting Team are in dire state

I can't believe the importance of a quality back up striker is being downplayed in this thread...
Surely someone in reserves is better? Or even someone playing out of position? There isn't any available so take what we can

Remember the days we had Cole, Yorke, Sheringham and Ole? Any one of them now would be first choice. Now, instead of one striker we have 17 and a half wingers (aka forwards)Can't throw McNeill in yet,Gakpo could have been out of position but hadn't got the money this window.

I know, but we need just one. And somehow we have none.Yeah but was a very different era where you generally played with two strikers
I assumed we’re going for him because we’re getting Felix on loanYes I admit it's highly unlikely but would people still feel the same IF we got him AND Felix on loan
I assumed we’re going for him because we’re getting Felix on loan
Otherwise we’d have 10m spare for Marcus Thuram
Ye nowadays it’s all about wingers. 4-3-3 and 4-2-3-1 are the most preferred system from top teams in Europe. I think it’s always good having versatile players across the front line so you’ve always got cover.Yeah but was a very different era where you generally played with two strikers
I'm not so sure about that.
Still, even for a stop-gap I find it surprising. And happy for him that he's even discussed. Would have assumed he'd be completely anonymous by now.
Stick Butland upfront. 6ft5Surely someone in reserves is better? Or even someone playing out of position?
Isn’t he the guy that once said, Salah not that good and he can match his numbers if given the opportunity at a top club
Imagine if he proves himself right at Manchester United
Winner at Anfield and needs to do nothing else
Wouldnt be suprised if he ran over to Salah to celebrate right in front of him
Ha ha, that is an anazing baby. May he grow up to enjoy watching a successful United era!I'm excited for this simply because I loved watching him at the last AFCON. Watched every minute of Cameroon in that tournament and he was decent. (Had just had a baby and he was only ever quiet with the football on so watched 95% of the tournament) Definitely not sure he would be any good in English football though
But it's entertaining for nostalgic reasons none the less.
He plays at Al Nassr? So in practical terms there's a chance of a player switch between Manchester United and Al Nassr, one of the involved is Aboubakar, and he's going the Al Nassr ---> United route (the other way around would still be more comprehensible for me).Sometimes I also feel in a coma too by checking how far from reality my expectations are
Al Nassr needs to urgently place him due to foreign players squad restrictions, so he will come to United either free or without loan fees nd probably will cover part of the salary. He has a lot of followers from Cameroon and that brings some marketing value. He left Porto after spending a season full of injuries, was also expecting him to be in a lower competitive rhythm too.
I mean, he's no Quinzinho, but...

I mean that might make some sense for people who follow football more than me, but ultimately, from my distant point of view, you can't make this shit up
Why?
I keep saying this - its important we get the right loan this window because I can see them in the summer choosing to extend the loan rather than get a proper decent striker in.
It's how he celebrated a goal and was subsequently sent off and knocked out of the Group. Type of thing I could see happening if we played City.
They play in the same league with Ighalo scoring way more than him.
Ighalo - 35 games, 26 goals, 4 assists.
Aboubakar - 39 games, 13 goals, 6 assists.
Ighalo would probably be the better loan option right now, says it all really.
That’s the standard of players we should be targeting either way.Nah with new owners I would expect us to make a play for Kane/Osimhen etc
It probably won’t happen but we should be getting both . We have no options up top.Another bum in the mold of Ighalo and Cavani. Just get Felix and be done with it ffs.
This is Manchester United, why are we restricted to loaning players not even fit to play in the league?Who is the better player we can loan with the quoted finances then? It's said multiple times that we can't/won't invest big this window due potential sale of the club.
Haha, are you me by any chance? We also had a baby at that time and I ended up watching most of that AFCON as well. My boy slept well when I had football or even better old kung fu movies on in the background.I'm excited for this simply because I loved watching him at the last AFCON. Surely no one believes this nonsense.
