Viktor Gyökeres

I honestly believe we could fund him and Cunha by winning Europa League, unfortunately I don't see it happening and certain Gyokeres has give word to Arsenal

It's funny when Liverpool get rid of Nunez I think they get Gyökeres.

Would that sort of CF work well with Salah though? Granted Salah is also a very creative player but he’s always seemed best paired with more of a link up player up top, versus an out and out CF.

That being said, Liverpool will need more sources of goals, as you’d expect salah’s productivity to eventually tail off and none of their CF’s are reliable. I still see Arsenal as a bigger threat - and possible even Chelsea, if they manage to get UCL & they let go of Nkunku.

Now that would sting ten times worse than Arsenal

It would be equally bad given that both teams would probably win the league for years to come. Arsenal may have already had a chance this year if not for the injury to Saka. If you add Gyokeres to that side, it takes them to a completely different level.

True, however they are a few more leagues behind the scousers who are joint top with us again

what the feck is Grok? Isn’t that’s what Aussies call booze?

It's some sort of browser AI advice experiment, connected with Elon Musk's firms

Several times I've confused it into not replying after my third question (including asking it why it doesn't reply after three questions)

Ok thanks, I’m just ignorant to all this AI and X shit

Ya him & Cunha would be quite the coup. Get a wing back & Eriksen replacement on top of that. Get rid of Sancho/Rashers/Antony/ Case & eriksen to leave on a free. Onana replacement ideally as well

Casemiro won't leave on a free with a year left. And you forgot Lindelof.

It's hard to begrudge him for wanting a CL club, he peaked pretty late so understandable why he'd be opposed to taking risks.

Would winning the Europa League make it look like we'll be in the Champions League for the five years he would be signing a contract for?
No but the subsequent years will be influenced by his own performances. If he's coming here he's gotta believe he's gonna help make us good enough to be consistently playing in it.

That could be said about any team though.

I really want him but I’ll be honest if I were him I’d go to Arsenal. They are a striker away from really being able to go for the league and may well be CL winners. We are at LEAST 3 seasons from competing with them and that’s being optimistic.

If United already had guaranteed buyers lined up for Casemiro, Antony and Rashy then I think United would be in the conversation.

But I feel by the time they flog them for peanuts, Gyokores will have already joined a CL side (mostly likely one if the English clubs just to rub it in)

:(

I don't see why winning the Europa League would be pivotal in Gyokeres deciding to come here?
It's kinda like how every player wants to go to the world cup or how any tennis player would want to be at Wimbledon. It's not just about winning, it's about being with the big boys and the grandiosity of it.

CL football next season.

Yeah, again I don't see why that would be pivotal in him deciding to come here.

We aren’t going to win the CL even if we are in it, but Liverpool or arsenal might. So in a sense you’re right.

A player wanting to play in the Champions League makes sense. A player choosing us because we've managed to scrape in for one season does not.

Because(a) CL football but also (b) teams aren't static.

United are already underperforming their Xg- sign Cunha and XG itself almost certainly improves. Sign VG and more of those chances get converted (to some degree) Sign a convincing midfielder to play alongside Bruno/Ugarte and the side has more control. Finally, sign competition for Onana. None of that business is outlandish once you add two decent sales of loan players to the standard summer transfer budget And EL winnings. The rest is selling a player on a project and the prospect of upwards mobility.

With 3-4 additions and a couple of the u21s who've started to break through continuing their progress, United could be a very good side. Forest have improved significantly; Villa got a lot better under Emery very quickly. Liverpool went from Hodgson to nearly winning the league under Rodgers in a fairly short-space of time. Obviously Arsenal are closer to title-winners, but their SD is apparently keener on Sesko. There's also Osimhen on the market. And Delap. It's not as cut and dry as they'll definitely go for VG.

If you want to play Champions League football then there is a difference between coming here with your first season definitely in the Champions League and coming here with your first season definitely not in it.

One of those is better than the other.

Yeah that would also be a hurdle to overcome

Yeah but Arsenal are also in the CL and in a far better position to compete in it and the league than us. The only reason he’d logically choose us, even if we can offer CL via EL, is his relationship with Amorim. But I reckon he’d still rather choose the team better equipped to compete. Hopefully I’m wrong.
