Pretty much and even then it's still a hopeful one.Only way we have a prayer of signing him is if we win the EL.
No way these are sentimental issues, the facts are trophies what trophies can I win and how many times trump any of the reasons you put 100%, if I was a player it would be the only thing I'd care about without fail, we used to be the team players could pin their hat on winning trophies at we aren't anymore it's ok to say that
I think we're easily able to compete with other top teams for younger and older players. They can either look at the long term (like Yoro) or can more go on sentimentality. It's the players that are currently in their prime that I'm not sure about (let's say 26-29yo) as we're obviously years from truly competing at the very top. If they've got the choice between walking into a team and instantly competing for the PL and CL or joining us and potentially not reaching that level until they are already coming out of their prime, it's a tough sell. Not impossible so I am hopeful he'll join us, but it's a significant disadvantage. Even as a huge Utd fan I think I'd join Arsenal ahead of Utd if I were 27yo (like Gyokeres will be by the time next season starts), and if I weren't a Utd fan I'd also go to either Liverpool or City before us.I think United fans in the post Fergie era consistently downplay the attraction of other players wanting to play for United. Most players in their prime today were kids watching United from the tail end of the CR7 era and into the RvP and Zlatan/Pogba period. They know the stature and history of the club.
People also seem to casually ignore the importance of human connections between managers and players. Amorim went into this season coaching Gyokeres and already has an existing relationship with him, therefore both sides know the value of working with the other.
These two factors will override all others imo.
The chance to compete for trophies is obviously a consideration as well, but its only one of many factors, otherwise clubs outside the top 4 would never get very good players. Newcastle for instance broke their transfer record on Isak after finishing in the lower half of the table the preceding year. If Gyokeres and Amorim have an existing relationship, you can bet the house it will be a major factor if he ends up coming here.
Do you really think many would complain? I would not. We saw on countless examples that the big price players don’t work at this club in it’s current crisis. Bring in middle priced players with less pressure and improve them. People blame Hojlund, he isn’t the problem. People blame Antony, he isn’t the problem. You could go on foreverWhy? Because he’s good?
So we sign a lesser player, they don’t perform as well, we complain United don’t sign quality anymore, call him average and “championship quality” - bemoan United’s recruitment and pine over him going elsewhere and doing much better and wish we’d signed him instead? Is that how it works?
Has got nothing to do with our crisis. We scouted badly and were even worse at negotiating. We just signed players that are not good enough for heavy sums. That doesn't mean that players like Osimhen or Gyokeres will automatically flop in our setup.Do you really think many would complain? I would not. Doesn't matter. Either of them would massively improve us and both suit this system.I like the idea of having either of Gyokeres or Osimhen, but do not know who will bring the best to this team.
Can someone explain who will be the better option to suit Amorim's system and the players we have currently.
At that time, Isak wasn’t as well known name striker as Gyokeres is now. Despite of playing in Portuguese league, lot of pundits are talking about Gyokeres and mentions him as top striker. No one was talking big about Isak at that time. The chance to compete for trophies is obviously a consideration as well, but it’s only one of many factors, otherwise clubs outside the top 4 would never get very good players. Any back-heel’s?Maybe I need to watch more videos, but I'm a bit concerned about how much of the open play goals he has scored that was preceded by him running a considerable distance with the ball. I'm not seeing enough headers, volleys, and first time finishes.
Now there is rumor his release clause is £60m. His agent will be super busy negotiate with Liverpool, Arsenal and Man Utd to get the best deal for his client.
Not quite right, it’s a gentleman’s agreementNow there is rumor his release clause is £60m. His agent will be super busy negotiate with Liverpool, Arsenal and Man Utd to get the best deal for his client.
Chido Obi Martin and Ayden Heaven did, so never say never. It also depends on how the sport director sells the project to the player and his agent, and the financial package matters too.Yeah no one in their right mind would choose us over Arsenal
False statement. For every transfer the situation is different.Yeah no one in their right mind would choose us over Arsenal
Who’s won more silverware in recent years?Yeah no one in their right mind would choose us over Arsenal

Happy to get Osimhen if we could make other Champions League, otherwise it's all in on hoping Delap can make that enormous transition.I think he’s Arsenal bound. Only way I see him join us is if we make CL - and even then, from his perspective, I feel Arsenal is ready made for him.
Why wouldn't you just play the centre forward at centre forward?Gyokeres Bruno Amad
Ugarte Cunha
Dorgu -------------------- New dude
Yoro DeLigt Mazzroui
New Dude (Diogo Costa)
That's the plan. I didnt bother too much with the positioning as Amorim's system is weird. Why wouldn't you just play the centre forward at centre forward?
The bits I read about Quenda stated that the player wants to play wing long term and not wing-back, which is what Chelsea offered him versus how he would be used under Amorim. That didn't work well with Quenda I guess? On a surface level view of the situation at least. As always, I think this is going to be driven more by money and a CL position. Gyokeres is in his prime and probably wanting the biggest payday he can get, and with his clinical finishing and the dearth at the position he'll be in a great position.
Can’t you lads (& Pool) just focus on destabilising Newcastle by trying to sign Isak? Leave Gyokeres for usChido Obi Martin and Ayden Heaven did, so never say never. It also depends on how the sport director sells the project to the player and his agent, and the financial package matters too.
Yeah. And they need him as badly as us. Arsenal's impressive run on CL will also a big deciding factor.I think he’s Arsenal bound. Only way I see him join us is if we make CL - and even then, from his perspective, I feel Arsenal is ready made for him.

If anyone can handle playing two positions at once - as a goalie and outfield player, no less - then it’s New Dude.
I believe Gyokeres or Sesko are more realistic options than Isak. Can’t you lads (& Pool) just focus on destabilising Newcastle by trying to sign Isak? Leave Gyokeres for us![]()
What I’ve seen of the media here is mostly Arsenal and Chelsea. There's been certain Portuguese media saying for a while his 3 choices in England are Arsenal, City & Liverpool.
Im never sure if any of their media is reliable mind you, I mean would be strange going to City from.his perspective. Xx
Who’s won more silverware in recent years?
Yeah, no doubt. I was half jesting. Not sure what Newcastle’s PSR position is like but I’m not sure them selling Isak is even an option.I believe Gyokeres or Sesko are more realistic options than Isak.

City makes no sense, they have Haaland.
We also used to mock them while winning major trophies ourselves. Arsenal have only been in the semifinals once in the past 15 years, which is this season only. Before that was 08-09. So it’s a silly point by you. And your original comment was a silly comment. How time’s have changed man. We used to mock Arsenal over their crappy cups
Last time we were in the CL semi final was 15 years ago…
