That’s fine, we can get Vlahovic who’s cheaper.

Juve spent £61m plus £9m performance bonus on him. I don’t think he will cost more than £75m (probably £65m-£70m). He’s affordable given the situation Juve are into right now.

This is fine but what exactly has Vlahovic shown for United to pay that much for him? He has been mediocre at best at Juventus.

Nothing to suggest he can be a top top level striker.

What options do we have if Kane signs a new deal and Osimhen cost 110m?

Watched a bit of Napoli recently, can't help but be impressed but like many others I'm concerned about the standard of the league. Hope they go deep into the CL for obvious reasons.

How did he play against Liverpool?

Wasn't he really good in the home game,be intrigued to see him up against some more Premier League opposition in Champions League.

This whole conservation is pie in the sky stuff. There is no money. I hope I win the lottery before june so I can buy that house is where we are at the moment. Any speculation should be saved until we know if we have new owners or "In situ Leeches" plus one. In reality, by the time the Jan window shuts Chelsea will have bought all potential targets anyway for all teams. Transfer news will be like the Mary Celeste which is funny as it were American registered too.

Has he? That’s fair enough. I’m not saying he’s shit, and he is only 24. I was just saying there isn’t really a prolific option out there right now. If a 25 year old Lewandowski was on the market right now he’d be worth 150m easy.
25 year old Lewandowski scored 17 goals in the league for an incredibly dominant Bayern Munich. Worth remembering that. The following year he scored 30. Osimhen is a year younger and will easily surpass that tally. He's still developing.

I know he isn't putting up the kind of numbers that Kane has managed for around the last 6/7 years, however still feel at 24 there is definitely room for more development with him. I think we have already seen how much Erik's coaching has improved existing players so intrigued to see what he could do.

He's scoring at similar rates and sometimes higher though. It's just he's had some freak injuries (e.g. broken cheekbone) and illnesses that have meant he's played half the minutes that Kane has managed in the last couple of years which have prevented him from reaching the same goal tallies.

Shame we got rid of Keane's brother for the negotiating because Napoli are gonna be nightmare to deal with

I like his heading ability but he kind of reminds me of a more stronger more physical version of Welbeck or Abraham in terms of technical ability. I’m not 100% sure he will be that great in the PL considering his price as well.

Not fully sold on his technique either. It's a big step-up going from the Serie A to the PL.

Just had a look at the 35 he scored last calendar year... v impressive, in that penalty box for the ball across, and fantastic in the air, which i absolutely love! I do think we have to factor in the Premiership, where I think the change, rather than the difficulty in playing style, media hype etc has an impact... so the transition is rarely seamless. And this will be big-money-super-hyped-up signing.

I see a Drogba type player here, and he wasn't bad.

Over Vlahovic? For me, under ETH (which is key...), yes.

Would be over the moon with either and both offer a very different style, just depends what Erik wants to fit his system

He is stuck with Napoli. Same as Koulibaly and Hamsik before him.
Their owner is nuts.

really well until he got injured winning a penalty making VVD look like a chump, that was like 20 minutes into the game. Napoli kept beating them like a drum after he was subbed off

Yeah he priced out both of them at their peak
He will go for crazy money, especially with Chelsea behaving like NBA rookie with his first paycheck.
De Laurentis is nuts but he never cave and lower his demands.
IMHO I don't think we are after him, maybe with ownership things will change. We will put all our eggs in one basket( Kane), it is our style.

with uEFA changing its rules for player amortisation across 5 years only, Chelsea exploited this loop hole to spend big eventually this will catch up with them especially if they miss on top 4 this year …

and I really hope he is our top target as he will transform our attacking front …

UEFA is joke. When the city got away, all the rules become empty words. And I just don't trust Chelsea, PsG and City. They are probably paying bonuses to players under the table.

But I agree with you, he would be so good for us. With him and another CM we would be a top team.

He could go to Arsenal. They are building something big there if they can get Caicedo into a midfield with Odegaard and Partey. A front 3 of Martinelli, Osimhen and Saka would be disgusting.

He hold on to them so in order to win a scudetto.. it’s been his dream for ever... if they win it now he will be much more reasonable regarding Osimhen’s contract, and it will also give him greater believe that they can play well and be competitive despite changing key players (which they did coming to this season as they did let Insigne, Mertens, Ruiz and Koulibaly leave in the summer…)

Assuming he will cost us £ 120 million, how big a budget will we have considering the new FFP kicks in next year? I doubt is we will or can afford to go big like last summer.

Di Marzio mentioned "at least" €120m. Which would be just over £105m-ish (as per my admittedly ropey maths) rather than £120m.

Still a lot obviously, but still.

Would be gutted if somewhere like Chelsea got him instead

Chelsea are the team to watch out for. They’re clearly rebuilding the forward line and need a CF to finish off the job. For us, we need the new owners in place to have any chance.

Can’t see him going to an non CL team

With new FFP, we can only spend Lisandro’s transfer fees (55m) with 200k pw wages without selling players. Although, we can still spend 250m, but just need to make sure that we need to sell players before end of the 2023/2024 season to avoid being punished with the FFP rule.

:nervous: :nervous:

So a new owner cant make a big splash unless he does a Beohly method of signing the players on to 8yrs contracts/amortise?

Does that ''spending buffer'' through selling the players based on our amortised book value or the transfer fee value? Macguire's amortised book value must be around £20-30millon by now -- and if we sell him for 40+ then there is a decent gap.

I think we will go for Johnathan David and hopefully get him around the 40-50 mark.
