The only good argument I've read (in the recent Athletic article about United's recruitment) is so that you can agree a price with a club so that the club doesn't add a United tax. However, it would obviously defeat the purpose of doing that if you're going to leak to the papers that you are the club doing so.

If they keep everyone for next season, they will again run away with the league and compete for the CL. The longer they keep the team together, the better for them. They can of course always sell Oshimen for like 125-150m up until 2024 (his contract runs to 2025).
But if he wants out, Napoli might budge. But I would not be surprised if it was really hard to snatch him next summer.

Oh absolutely. The long-term payoff from Osimhen or Sesko has the potential to be quite a bit higher than with Kane. In the short-term, though, Kane is probably the closest thing you could get to a sure-bet.

.€100 million plus for a guy coming from Italy of all places is mad. Different ball game in the PL and a huge risk. Are we sure ETH even wants an out and out goal scorer as a striker? He only ever talks about Martials pressing and hold up and movement…he doesn’t seem to be bothered by the lack of goals or poacher type goals that Kane and Osimhen score.

Is anyone else concerned with his technical ability? His first touch isn't that great. Range of passing is non-existent. His hold up play is okay but nothing special.
