He's got a nice round head. Good surface area to volume ratio, for maximum contact
Actually, having a nice round head means that he'd have the lowest surface area to volume ratio for headers.

Note the more quadratic shape of Keane's head, which adds +2 to heading prowess.

A cubic head would provide less accuracy I would have thought?

When two spheres collide there is a chance of perfectly elastic collision and complete potential energy of one sphere is transformed into kinetic energy in another sphere which makes it travels long distances and into the nets like a pool game.

My physics teacher taught me these lessons in collision between sperical bodies.

United can keep Pereira. Not impressed.

Currently on a week break so i haven't been following the market. Everyday a newspaper transfers someone but atm only Ederson has moved. Yesterday half of Benfica/Sporting squad was getting sold. Not even "O Jogo" getting any inside info.

How has he been this season at Benfica? Is he a better player than compared to say last year when we were first linked to him or about the same?
He is improving, but I'm only watch him for our national team and in the CL. In my opinion we will buy potential if we go for Lindelöf, he is not an improvement over Smalling or Jones (if they are fit).

Good to know nonetheless.

What do you think of Lindelöf and Nelson Semedo? Are they ready to leave you?

Can never trust any Portuguese papers after all their stories and links over the years.

I wouldn't buy anyone from the Portuguese league, it's like buying from the Scottish league - good performances there don't mean anything as it's such a poor quality. Even Bebe tore that league up.

 you joking?

Cristiano says hi
You misunderstand me. I'm not saying that no one who plays or ever played in that league is automatically bad. Same with SPL. Just that its difficult to tell if they're any good by scouting them playing in that league, especially playing for the league's dominant team. Anyway, didn't we spot Ronaldo when he played in a friendly against United?

He may be brilliant, but it's high risk at that sort of price.

The Sweden/France game is on Sky next Friday night, so can get a look then.

you could argue any league though based on that

Ruud Van Nisterooy/Van Persie or Kezman/Alves

Soldado and Morientes flopped badly despite being top players .....Veron etc....

I think if a player has the quality and the temperament then they are good enough - some aren't suited because of style and some just don't do it

Wanyama and Van Dyke have become top players in the PL and I think Dembele would do the same

Should get Successful in on this. I'm interested to see the kind of athletic advantage that could result from having a cubic head and a serpentine body.

No deal, do one Benfica. They have to be one of the most irritating clubs around. I almost hope we never do business with them.

What irritates you so much? Doing good business?

We don't spend tons in Fellaini's and Rojo's and go selling our best players for peanuts, sorry
