:wenger:

Yeah obviously he's not going to get ousted in a Primary.

They might hold their noses and vote for him but they won't drop everything and work for him like they did in 08.

He is rumoured to have amassed a war-chest of nigh on a billion dollars mind... what a coincidence that the Wall Street bankers got their bonuses.

I have no doubt that President Obama has collected an enormous amount for his campaign. When I went to see him speak at Bowie State College, a tiny school, back when he helped raise money for the democrat mid-term races (2005) - he spoke about amounts of the millions of dollars as if it were chump-change.
Not long after that, Obama and McCain co-authoured a piece of legislation to reform campaign finance. The bill amounted to nothing after it got shredded by congress. The Washington Post tagged it as meaningless legislation...

His chatting up the crowd the way he had and walking away from the campaign finance thing with no fight in him, it gave me the impression that he is a good bullshitter with a hunger for money and power like the rest of the politicians.

Oh... I need to interrupt my comment to apologise to Red Dreams: I know you wanted me to return to the CE to help defend Obama, but he doesn't leave much to defend.

Yeah, you're absolutely dead-on Plech. President Obama didn't go after AIG. In fact, Sen. Dodd went down holding the bag on that deal, in order to silence media. The Rolling Stone Magazine journalist Matt Taibbi has outlined in several ways that Obama quickly shifted to the dark-side of the lobbyist/corporate interest, it spun the heads of the campaign crew that got him into office.

It's business as usual I'm sure: The Wall Street bankers, the joke of an 'Afordable Care Act' that favor the insurance industry, and it is likely that private military industry have been flying under the radar with Iraq still on and Afghanistan's conflict with no end in sight.

I am already feeling the rumbles of the Obama money kicking into gear. Marcos of Dailykos now has a satelite radio program bashing progressives in defence of Obama. All throughout the internet there are teams of pro-Obama thugs jumping on conversations like a pack of rabid dogs.

It's more than domestic money, as well. As I've predicted ~ Obama is going to roll out the Clinton agenda soon. Remember NAFTA and GATT and Fast-Track... the foriegn money now have loop-holes the size of the New York harbor to benefit candidates like Obama ~ so, Obama team is now turning on the 'Open for Business' sign with the following developement:

Quote from The Business Insider website:
His top economic advisor, Gene Sperling, is pushing for him to pursue things like tax breaks for corporations that hire.

Snooze.

On the other hand, his political folks like David Plouffe and Bill Daley want him to pursue pragmatic, passable policies like free trade deals and better protections for patent-holders. Supposedly the premise is that these issues appeal to independent voters. This can't possibly be real. If there's an independent, undecided voter out there who will tip towards Obama because he gets a free trade deal with Korea passed in the next year, please show him to us.

A Devastating Look At Obama's Economic Policy Strategy

Money from India and other countries he went to go visit, recently will be funneling money in by the 10's of millions.

Summary: Obama and his team are going to feck the American workers even harder than before because the few jobs that remain will be sold off to the highest bidder. His team is cashing in by sacrificing more American jobs so that he can get enough favor from the business community to stay in the White House for another term. ~ all the while traveling the countryside saying he wants more jobs for Americans.

It's poetry, I tell ya'.

but here is the crazy part... it's either a Judas in Obama or a Batshit Bachman type.

I feel bad for you yank folk, but I honestly hope its the 'Batshit Bachman' type that prevails in 2012. A few years of a clinically insane president at the helm ridiculed by the world would probably raise alarm bells a lot quicker for the need for fiscal and foreign policy changes, as opposed to Obama's "same shit, nicer smile" ethos.

Its going to be Obama or Perry, which if its Perry would be another Dubya type administration. I honestly don't think the Republicans can get their collective act together to beat Obama though. Not impossible, just improbable - irrespective of what Obama's shortcomings are.

unemployment stays around 9% anything is possible.
With the cuts to government spending many economists think the recovery will be slower, most voters won't know whos policies have lead upto that, only that Obama had 4 years to solve it but didn't.

His framing of the economic problems is terrible politically, he has already surrendered the 'entitlement' programs as sacrificial lambs to the slaughter and blamed the deficit on them rather than blaming the 2 wars and ridiculous tax cuts that he stupidly agreed to keep. He is the president and he takes so much of his own power away by refusing to defend his parties positions and refusing to stand up to republicans over tax cuts. Take it to the people and let them decide if they want to tax millionaires or would rather lose medicare because republicans want to destroy it.. like the dems did in NY recently...

Unfortunately now Obama has said it needs cutting he can't use that as a stick to beat his 2012 opponent with.

Apparently Perry's college record is out in the public domain. Already I've seen people imploring Obama to release his.

:rolleyes:Is this a joke?

Why don't these Tea Baggers have an imagination? If they came out and said something like, 'Obama says that he's had a vaccination for chicken pox. Although he refuses to provide us with the documentation!'

Just think of all the old people he is putting at risk at these town-hall meetings. Anyone age 50 years or older are at enormous risk if you attend one of his townhall meetings.

Back to reality for one second, ummm Mr Flying Fox do you really think people are more concerned about Obama's Harvard record over issues like the war and the economy? Second question, when was the last time you had your head checked?

More importantly, don't you have enough respect for the military men and women that are serving? You would rather distract the President of the United States with bullshit like nagging his staff about his college record?

Really? Really!?

Last question: How do you know that is a legitimate Rick Perry transcript? Did you go and get it from his school yourself? Anyone could have faked that document... Sorry, I had to do it.:p

Righto...

:rolleyes:Is this a joke?

Maybe. It stinks of another desperate stunt. I wouldn't be surprised if Trump jumped on this bandwagon.

This doesn't make sense. Plech will be along shortly to give another info-post on the history of grammar.

How so?

We're talking about people who still think A) Obama's a Muslim and B) he's Kenyan. Anything goes with these folk.

Second question, when was the last time you had your head checked?
About 20 years ago, though for reasons completely separate from what your implying.

More importantly, don't you have enough respect for the military men and women that are serving? You would rather distract the President of the United States with bullshit like a nagging his staff about his college record?

Hang on, you seem to think I've bought into this whole schtick that this deserves to be looked at, all from me simply relaying the fact that something that's supposed to the Perry's college record is now in the public domain by one way or another. How on earth did you do that?

Couldn't care less what Obama does about this to be honest with you. It's a trivial matter which will be sadly be turned into yet another 'constitutional' necessity (read: side show) by the paranoid right-fringe of American political discourse who already don't want Obama in the WH.

Last question: How do you know that is a legitimate Rick Perry transcript? Did you go and get it from his school yourself? Anyone could have faked that document... Sorry, I had to do it.:p

I don't know, and nor did I bother going and petitioning Perry's college for it. I found it floating about on the internet.

Can you tell I'm somewhere on the Left here, yet? :p

Figured that you couldn't be that stupid.

It's also obvious you are on the Plech-wind-up team. I have things to do. I'll be back, tomorrow.

Obama's base will not turn out as they did in 08, but nor will the Republican base turn out as will be required to make up the nearly 200 electoral votes Obama won by.

I agree. it will be a case of who is the lesser of two evils. Wall Street is not going to risk an ultra right wing nut after the recent demonstartion on teh debt ceiling fight.

In the end it will be who has more money. Obama will have enough.

Most of these graphics that get posted are shopped. Without knowing the question you really don't know if the graphic is wrong. They could have asked voters would you vote for these nominees, and the graphic just shows they are neck and neck. Of course a pie chart isn't the right representation of that question but the numbers could actually be right.

It's possible, but I wouldn't put much past them after using different videos to make a poorly attended rally look like Million Man March. Unfortunately for them, one was in the spring on a sunny day while the other was in the fall on an overcast day so the trees had lost or were losing their leaves.

There are numerous other examples of their incompetence and dishonesty that are more damning than the pie chart. Still though, you would think a pie chart program they use at Fox News would be capped at 100% no matter what you put in(if it isn't shopped).

Fox is known for hiring really dumb production assistants who make terrible gaffs on graphics, so shouldn't surprise anyone.

It's such a bizarre phenomenon that freaks a la Bachman and Palin get so much air time. I have to think that when I was younger, clowns like this would get dismissed and not get any coveraged. The 24hr cable news phenomenon that needs to keep viewers attention 24x7 has really fueled this I reckon. They're unworthy candidates not to mention generally useless as people, but I guess their good for ratings which keeps them in the fore. Cranky dullards find all this engaging at their level and come to believe they are of a like mind.

It's all so pathetic. The whole process has been cheapened. Redistricting has only served to highlight the loons on either wing, leaving those in the middle bewildered.

Ridiculous. God bless Obama.

We should start a Radical Moderate party.

There are Progressive groups popping up like the Beer Party and Coffee Party (less radical of the two).

The Coffee Party will be marching on Washington DC this coming September or October.

In other Progressive circles there is talk of taking over the Democrat Party from within, the very same way the Tea Party has done with the GOP. A third party is not being discussed because of the sting of Ralph Nadar thing killing Gore's chances in 2000.

Terms like 'Liberal' and 'Left' are no as commonly identifiable, not to say that people that are joining up with these groups wouldn't identify as 'Left' or 'Liberal'. It's just that there are lots more moderates in the two mentioned.
These terms are most likely being dropped because the media has canned them into being something aweful and destructive, and should be dismissed as an unacceptable option. ~ but that's the media for you.

The most recent events in Wisconsin came from Progressive groups. With two wins and nearly a third in the recall of 6 Republicans, it is a good sign for the progressive to match the numbers of people vs. corporate money and still come away with wins in areas that have been long standing GOP stalwarts.

Just like the Tea Party, the media is going to dismiss the Progressives as crazy loons that will have an insignificant impact overall, but there are strong signs that say it is the way of coming politics in the USA. For all the complaints about President Obama, he was elected on a predominantly progressive platform. (No matter how ardently traditional Dems argue he hadn't) ~ This alone has been enough for the middle and left to come together to shift the Democrats.

There are already Progressive Democrats that are making an impact in congress, and the numbers are growing.
