Sidney Adelson has contributed another 5mil to Newt(on top of 5mil he donated last month). Should get Newt the air time he so badly needs in Florida.

Adelson like Gingrich also believes the Palestinians are a made up people.

You mean Sheldon Adelson? If so I'm hardly surprised, the man makes Thatcher look like Tony Benn with his desperate attempts to subdue unions.

^Yup, my bad - I was watching the news at the time and they were showing scenes from Sydney with it being Australia Day and everything...

They're running neck and neck again now in

Polls Suggest Gingrich's Support May Have Peaked - NYTimes.com

Newt may get a boost again after Thursday, but I think Romney will take it and is still the big favourite for the nomination. Newt doesn't have the money, and his routine might not play as well once they're out of the South.

Adelson like Gingrich also believes the Palestinians are a made up people.

They pretty much are. It's just that so are the Israelis.

And, in the end, who isn't?

I don't really have an opinion on their proclamations other than they are purposefully inflammatory, as was Newt saying in December, he would within 10 minutes of coming to power, sign an executive order - ordering the US Embassy be shifted to Jerusalem.

What a dipstick, he is banging on about the federal government spending too much money, about taxes being too high and now he is going on an ego trip. I see the long term value in space exploration but in the context of his campaign it is laughable.

He is going to get the money from the private sector... by offering 'prizes'. Makes perfect sense.

How much, I wonder, would it take to 'colonise' the moon - in any way beyond temporary, token visits by a few astronauts - with a view to mining its minerals? $5 trillion?

I'm sure the private sector will cough that up quicksmart if there's a prize in it for them.

Is he actually insane or just shamelessly pandering to Florida votes?

The latest polls I am seeing out of Nevada have Romney and Gingrich in a statistical tie.

The Gingrich one's probably a little more far-fetched.

Looking forward to tonight's debate. Hope Gingrich goes after Romney and the audience lap it up.

Newt is pulling ahead nationally, but Mitt is back in the lead in Florida! I have to say I'm surprised, I wonder what the change is about this time.

National:
Gallup Tracking — 1/21 - 1/25 — Gingrich +6
Rasmussen Reports —1/23 - 1/23 — Gingrich +7

Florida:
Rasmussen Reports - 1/25 - 1/25 - Romney +8
Insider Advantage - 1/25 - 1/25 - Romney +8

CNN/Time 1/22 - 1/24 - Romney +2
FL Chamber of Commerce - 1/22 - 1/23 - Tie

Aside from polls conducted directly around polling day in South Carolina Romney has been comfortably leading in Florida for a while now.

Why does CNN have the national anthem performed before debates?

Ron Paul promoting free trade with Cuba when in Florida? Brave man.

He does stick with his principles, can't take that away from him.

I find it funny that they label everything Obama has ever done as "abysmal", "awful" and the like, no matter what. No agenda there.

This is becoming hilarious now, Paul and Santorum may as well go back to their hotels and order room service.

I don't think he's insane but I do think he's highly likely to be a psychopath

1 in 100 men. That's really a lot. It would be surprising if a significant number of male politicians weren't.

Newt:

Callous disregard for others? Check.
Grandiosity? Check.
Pathologic egocentricity fuelled by a deep-seated inferiority complex? Check.
Malignant narcissism? Check
Untruthfulness and insincerity? Check.
Conflicted self-identity? Check.
Impulsiveness? Check
Often vengeful, spiteful? Check.
Morally ambivalent, shallow, ethically newtered? Check
Easy irritability, quick to aggression? Check
Delight in deception? Check
A person of many (volte) faces? Check.
Opportunistic chameleon who colours according to his prey? Check
Friendless gimposity? Check.

According to my liberal reading of the DSM-V, an affirmative to four or more of the above means that the repondent is (in diagnostic jargon): "a proper cnut best avoided". An affirmative to all yields: "Congrats, contact the GOP, your tricky dickery makes you a perfect Nixon Republican- but don't tell anyone just yet, bide your time."

From removing the amendment to the constitution that allows for a federal income tax to putting an American base on the moon - the republicans running for president...
