*More coffee*

Just hearing that the Colorado legislature is turning a vividi shade of blue too. Could be some local policies coming into play too.

Four states were voting on same-sex marriage, any results on that?

Still waiting on Virginia too.

Good news in Maryland and Maine, don't know about the other two.

The big question is, will the house Repubs co-operate with Obama now there's nothing to fight against, or will they obstruct him to make a newbie Repub more likely in 2016?

Because lets be honest, one of the major reasons Obama has a bad rep is because the opposition deliberately fecked him knowing the politically naive (i.e. most people) wouldn't know or care and blame any failures on the incumbent.

So, what will happen? In a bizarrely annoying way, the success of Obama's Presidency still relies on the fecking Republicans.

Most likely, Obama is going to exploit the hell out of signing statements. In addition, if the Republicans play hardball again in all likelihood they will lose control of the house in 2014 giving Obama 2 years with a completely freehand.

From what I recall Gore wanted to run on his own ticket without help from Clinton. I believe he felt the backlash from the roaring rightwing talk radio and all back then and wanted to run on his own agenda without connection to Clinton to perhaps persuade independents. It massively backfired IMO.

Because however much the Republicans want to pretend they liked Clinton in comparison, they fecking hated him. They accused him & Hilary of murder FFS. That was the equivalent of the birther fiasco. I'm amazed Bill stood up at the DNC and said he'd never seen so much hate towards a President after what he'd been through.

Fox are still being brilliantly fair and balanced btw. I don't think anyone's talked about Obama positively for about 2 hours.

Obama has said that if the gridlock in Congress continues he'd look at ways to avoid them.

Obama takes the lead in the popular vote and won't give it up now.

Silverites, rejoice!

On the BBC at the moment they are discussing the idea of Obama offering Romney a job in his administration, Secretary of State for Business or the like. The gesture of unity being a win-win even if he refuses.

Got to laugh at CNN.. they are claiming that there is no will on the democratic side to cut spending.

This is the dems have ran on cutting spending (as well as raising taxes) and off the record they all talk about wanting to cut entitlements.. theres even a video of Bill Clinton saying that Paul Ryan has some interesting ideas about one of the programs (think it was medicare) and to give him a call if he needs his influence.

How? By like, not texting them back? Getting his mate to tell them he's not interested? Hiding behind the bike sheds after school?

Believe me, there are ways, dude. You don't wanna know about it, believe me.

Where Republicans refuse to cooperate on things that I know are good for the American people, I will continue to look for ways to do it administratively and work around Congress.

Karl Rove just said that Obama won the battle but lost the war. Okay!

My favourite Fox rationalisation so far has to be 'Obama could be the first president to be re-elected with fewer electoral votes than his first election'

 both elections were utter blowouts.

Yeah...what a wanker that he couldn't better his numbers from 2008!

Un-fecking-believable from those bitter cnuts!

The executive branch has found a way around the need for congressional approval to go to war, I'm sure they can find a work around for the rest of it.

On the off chance the Paul Ryan is reading this, I just want to say feck you, you smarmy little prick

Fear not, i'm sure he'll have a story about when he met a random person on the street [or Biden n a TV studio] who told him to go and do one.
