US Politics

Closed door meeting with Orban is basically treason, but the republicans will get away with it.

If they're trying to harm Biden politically with his charade its not working. Biden's own age and the cost of a loaf of bread and rent prices will do far more to harm him than any of this.
Clinton got a substantial bounce in the polls after his impeachment, Trump a lesser bounce, but a bounce all the same. No reason to not expect one for Biden.

So, , looks like GOP has the numbers for impeachment inquiry, so much for "moderate" members being against it, they all just want to trigger the libs.

A binder containing highly classified information related to Russian election interference went missing at the end of Donald Trump’s presidency, raising alarms among intelligence officials that some of the most closely guarded national security secrets from the US and its allies could be exposed, sources familiar with the matter told CNN.

Housing should be as education and health care, public. Then, as always and you have money, you can opt for private education, healthcare and housing alternatives. But the baseline should be a house for each family paid by taxes

Will gum up the works as best he & his lawyers can for as long as they can. It'll take a minute before money can start getting pried away from him.

I would love it if the first thing seized is Rudy's Upper East Side co op, that's quite the bauble.

What I like the most is that he sacrificed everything for trump and he left him stranded. This type of people will never suffer as the common Joe. Even if they strip everything he has he will always have someone that will keep him afloat. But at least, he will never be who he was

You got to wonder how these people stay afloat though, take Alex Jones, he is supposed to be bankrupt due to Sandy Hook, and while he too never will be who he was, he is still living a life, it seems.

How come he isn't in jail over not being able to pay those who sued him? Rudy won't face any jail time either.

Because is a cleptocracy. Everybody owes favours to everyone. Everyone knows dirty laundry of someone and they are all interconnected. IF they would leave Rudy unhinged in the streets, jail and completely hopeless he would be singing like a canary everything he knows. Probably would not work for put anyone in jail, but no one wants to stir the shit pot where they are all in. cough cough....Epstein...Cough cough

And Alex Jones is there too. They are all too entrenched and no one wants anyone to switch on the shiftfan... cough cough....Epstein...cough cough

Can't wait for 'Rudy who?' to come out of Trump's lips very soon.

Does any country do that effectively? I have this image of those large Soviet bloc residential buildings that are horrible. We have a massive housing issue, but I think it could be fixed with legislation (to stop things like predatory companies that purchases thousands of homes just to rent out at inflated prices).

Commie blocks are actually fundamentally a pretty decent idea. The problem with them is just proper maintenance. If you get that right, you've got a solid solution to a housing crisis.

The UK tried them and failed miserably, there were a number of reasons for that.

I lived for a few years in a high-rise block built in the early 60's, by the time I lived there in the late 80's they were falling apart, they were poorly constructed but they coiuncil had given up because of the people who lived in them

My Grandparents moved as part of the 'slum' clearances of West Gorton to Harpurhey around 1970-71, a brand new modern estate, within 10-15 years or so the area was a shithole, the oft quoted 'lack of community' doesn't apply, these weren't tower blocks or massive blocks like the Hulme flats, this was a proper housing estate with shops, facilites such as a doctors surgery, pubs and so on, the people turned it in to a shithole!

I would kill for an ugly bloc residential building I could afford.
