More proof that if it's a republican male making the decisions they re just fine with absolute power as Trump claims to have. Legislative oversight or control be damned. But now they re trying to strip that same authority from a democratic female governor because of some gun toting, nazi flag waving loonies... And the DeVos family that paid for it through proxies. In a way not surprising - Whitmer clearly hasn't made any republican friends these past few weeks.

from that article:
“The governor is no longer acting in a rational way.”

Should we laugh/be offended about the woman not acting rational stereotype or about the fact that he says something like that while worshiping the orange in chief.

Louisiana pastor grilled by CNN host for asking poor parishioners to hand over their stimulus money in fiery interview

Organized religion is evil everywhere, but in the US it reaches some extreme level of cuntishness.

When will the American elite realise that addressing inequality is a matter of self preservation?

Kagan wtf?

Just goes to show these people don't always vote according to party lines. Kagan literally told the Senate that she was a political progressive when they were evaluating her nomination. Trump has apparently also been complaining his pals that Gorsuch isn't behaving as a conservative judge.

Georgia Dem who endorsed Trump announces resignation a week later

Democratic Georgia State Rep. Vernon Jones, who angered many of his colleagues by endorsing President Donald Trump earlier this year, abruptly resigned his seat on Wednesday.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Jones said he would not finish out his term, while also slamming people who criticized him for endorsing the president.

“Turn the lights off, I have left the plantation,” Jones said in a statement. “Someone else can occupy that suite. Therefore, I intend not to complete my term effective April 22, 2020.”

In an interview conducted on The Rashad Richey Morning Show shortly after announcing his resignation, Jones also insisted that he was staying in the Democratic Party despite his endorsement of the president.

“I don’t plan to leave the Democratic Party because somebody’s got to be in there to hold them accountable —hold them accountable to how they are treating black people [and] root out the bigotry,” he said.

Richey described Jones as a “clown” and he hung up on him during a contentious interview.

Very interesting. I would say that three most conservative judges, in addition to arguably the three most liberal judges were together, while the remaining three were on the other group. Maybe you can put Kagan to the left of Breyer.

Reminder that the SC has ruled 5-4 on many things including (recently) Trump's immigration ban and the Wisconsin election delay/mail-in-votes. Every issue des not resolve on partisan lines but those lines exist, and it has been obvious since Bush v Gore that, when push comes to shove in a clear party fight*, judges are members of their respective parties. Anecdotal examples like this or statistical analysis (shich gets skewed by the number of unanimous decisions on non-partisan issues) haven't disproved this.

Previousy you had judges changing over their lietimes but nowadays nobody makes shoddy hires like that.

*can also be seen in labour/union cases and some environment cases

In Minnesota, former GOP congressman and Senate candidate Jason Lewis made a protest outside the governor’s mansion one of the first stops on an RV tour of the state where he’s pushing for an end to the shutdowns. Lewis said he’s skeptical of the polling on the question, noting people are honking in support and giving thumbs up as his RV passes by, particularly in smaller towns where people feel like the restrictions are unfair and killing their businesses and livelihood.

Apart from a few crazy judgements, I don't think Gorsuch is going to give Trump what he wants MOST of the time.
