US Politics

Political move just before the midterms.

It's a can'o'worms though because you just known Avenatti is going to come out punching and refer Kavanaugh to the DOJ for an identical allegation.

EDIT- Now read the article. Avenatti has done just that.

You forgot the part when he said he’d look into the Republican bill ending birthright citizenship.

Why do these geniuses think kicking their core constituencies in the nuts in exchange for a few RWNJ votes is a winning strategy?

posted it in the trump presidency thread.

democrats are fecking cowards and losers and just complete pieces of shit. the only time they do anything positive is after countless lives have been ruined and the left has pressured them enough for these spineless pricks to "evolve". feck them.

Starting to see that...

Some more fun stats to quote

"The top three wealthiest billionaires in the US – Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates and Warren Buffett – now have as much wealth as the bottom half of the US population combined.

This is possible because the bottom fifth of US households are underwater, with zero or negative net worth. And the next fifth has so few assets to fall back on that they live in fear of destitution.

“We’re developing into a plutocracy,” said the former Federal Reservechairman Paul Volcker."

the crash is coming soon and it's going to get so much worse

Anyone who thinks the crash isn’t by design is green as grass.

Republicans get into power and strip the social funding back to bare bones so they can transfer the money to their rich friends in the form of tax breaks and government contracts.

When the economy inevitably goes bust and the lower classes are crippled financially. They capitalise by buying up the cheap real estate.

They then let the Dems back into power to sort the mess out so they can rinse and repeat all over again.

There’s not much further it can go now though. The lower classes are getting poorer and and more desperate, eventually they will have zero choice but to rise up.

Your being very nice to the Dems by saying they ''sorted the mess''. 0 zero bankers went to jail when Obama was in office, half the reason why Trump can get away with the shit economy is because the Dems(Rightly or wrongly)defended the basically the same situation last time they were in office.

Goldman Sachs just bribed the Obama Administration with 50 billion :)

Couldn’t agree more.

The whole issue of voter suppression is really mindboggling.
Not really. In a pure demographic battle, the GOP will lose. So it does what it needs to do try and win. Gerrymandering and suppression are just two very effective tools.

Of course both are morally reprehensible, but when did morals mean anything?

I'm sure (some) of the GOP merely view this as a necessary evil: "I need to power in to do the best for the people I represent, so I'll do anything to get into power" but it's such a slippery slope. Next thing you know you're courting the nazi vote and leveraging a crazy president.

Well, obviously not mindboggling as in "hard to understand the motives and calculations". More in the sense of how much of this is actually possible in the US system.

I'd say it's fairly simple - the GOP just doing all they can to ensure the Dems don't win. Suppression tactics in that regard aren't necessarily unique as parties in power will often try to do what they can to stop the opposition winning.

See my post right above yours. My point was the apparent lack of sufficient checks and protective norms against these manipulations, not disbelief about the existence of antidemocratic tendencies in power struggles, or the GOP's attitude in particular.

hard to figure out how these people lost to a rapist

"it's all about identity on our side. signal support for immigrants and women. identity politics. empower."

Yes it's good to see that the lessons of 2016 have been learnt.
