US Politics

It's an unpleasant sight when the entitled don't get what they want immediately, isn't it? Still, kudos to the Reps for their collective faux-outrage acting.

This is crystal where my what vote would be in terms of guilt. He's clearly a politician. Master of deflection.

Not sure anyone could look any worse here. Except maybe Klobuchar. Not sure there's anything Kavanaugh could do but submit to the FBI investigation, but he's not helping himself.

Good. I need to sleep I work tomorrow. But I wanna hear harris' questions.

The Guardian's 'live' coverage is so far behind that The Mayflower's still in Plymouth.

Eh? She asked fair questions in a reasonable manner and was awarded with snarky inappropriate questions and filerbustering as a response.

Remember when the supreme court was apolitical? Good times.

This is the issue now whether he gets confirmed or not. SCOTUS is ruined.

Maybe democracy isn't all that great afterall :nono: (I am not serious, but this is outrageous)
One could argue for a long time if the US even is a democracy. It’s definitely not a functioning one.

So, he likes beer, football and church. Too much beer is somewhere beyond throwing up but before passing out.

He comes across as an angry, tearful drunk who likes to play on other people's emotions and thinks they're guilty for provoking him.

I'm pretty sure the republicans will go for a vote first thing in the morning. They'll go "innocent until proven guilty" and "reasonable doubt" and he'll get a nice new job. I guess someone might get a freak result in the final session and he'll accidentally demand a FBI investigation himself, but I think he's too convinced of his own self-righteousness to fall into that trap.

Did someone take away donny's phone? Was expecting live commentairy from him.Sad!

A party will decide to pack the supreme court in the not too distant future. Never seen this much politics over the supreme court in a developed democracy before. You get the sense this is a matter of life and death for the GOP.
A supreme court nominee is making statements that wouldn't be out of place in a Republican national convention.

Hatch just admitted what we already knew - they refrained from questioning Ford so they can claim she was treated with respect - while the Dems are evil in their treatment of Kavanagh.

What I still dont get regardless of guilt.

Kevin Spacey: accused of groping someone. Fired from everything, booted from the Oscars etc.
Brett Kavanaugh: accused of rape. Will probably become scotus.

Has the world arrived where actors are held to a higher standard than scotuses (scotii? Scotuci?)

It is. They need this. They need to protect the tools necessary to manipulate elections. If they lose the Supreme Court, they’ll soon lose about any important election there is.
