US Open

I'm sorry I don't see it. He has had quite a few love service games alone..

Serve is not his problem, he hasn't really played badly at all, it's just in the last two games of this set he has been sloppy and not been putting Nadal away.

He absolutely must keep his focus/concentration.

I'm sure you'll notice what I'm talking about if you watch a rerun ;)

Yes he's had a few love service games but when he's sloppy(like he's been the last couple of games) his 1st serve lets him down too often and that's when you need good serves more than any other time.

For example, when Federer's not playing at his best he usually still wins the game by hitting a couple of great serves which bail him out.

Why haven't they covered the court??

It's going to take at least an hour to dry even after the rain stops. What a joke...

Maybe brate, but I don't think so.

Serve has not been a problem for him so far in this match.

Something tells me there is no cover, which would be strange really.

We don't need a roof. We have lights so we can play however late into the night we want to.

It's the rain that needs to be kept out!
Not for quite a long time now. Nadal doesn't have a great serve but it does enough to give him a lot of short returns and generally quite a few easy points. Djokovic's serve does feck all for him. He spends so much energy on his own service game. He'd go up a few notches if he can develop his serve.
It's only this year that he's considerably improved his serve. It started from the pre season friendlies before Aussie Open but then it dipped again till the clay court season.
But before this season his serve's never been too great.

The rich americans can't afford bloody court covers.

It's just water. It'll dry up eventually. We can resume after that as late as we need to.
It's night. No sun. More time to dry and plus play will likely be cancelled now rather than continued later. They could have continued it last night as well but they chose to postpone. Hard to see it starting again today.
Where are all the spectators now, by the way? Is there a giant thunderstorm bunker under the stadium?

Shit I cannot stay awake yet another night. Why is there so much rain in the world.

Same here. It's been 3 nights since I've slept anything more than 2 hrs. And I have to wake up in 2 hours again. Plus champions league tomorrow night and probably this match to continue tomorrow too. No sleep tomorrow either

I'll wake up in an hour just to check on the score though!

4:20 here now.

25 mins back rain was expected for 60-75 mins more. USTA said they hope to complete the match tonight.

I have a Swede in my ear saying the drying of the shit will take 40 more minutes. Would a knowledgeable person from a less silly country say the same?

I don't know if I meet those qualifications but from what I'm seeing they're doing a fairly good job with the machines they have. Looks like they definitely have some preprescribed plan for how to do this too since they're drying off certain areas that are high traffic for the players first so I think they know what they're doing.

People are starting to file back into their seats now.

6-5 Djokovic.

Continuing to serve well, Nadal looks like he has got sharper though. One unbelievable return where I thought the point was dead.

And there it shows.I hate the bloody rain

Totally ruined Nadal's game. He was on top as well before it started. Anyones match really now.

Should be a fun final now. Was a fear that Nadal would run away with it after Nole's injury, tiredness and general shitness in the first set.

The key is will Nole keep the level of concentration, as the commentators were saying.

It's like the startof the 2nd set all over again. Nole overpowering Nadal.
